This is an all-new kind of leather gear. It’s made from GORE-TEX® Pro Shell Leather, a supple, luxuriously tanned, top grain 1.2 mm micro-perforated cowhide, permanently joined to a seam sealed, breathable/waterproof GORE-TEX® inner membrane. This suit feels different than regular leather across a wider range of conditions. In other words, it’s more practical (…though we wish it weren’t so expensive). The material technology provides a breakthrough in leather comfort, functionality and durability. The waterproof Transit suit wears cooler than regular leathers during the hottest days, yet is warm and dry through the wettest conditions. No need to add a rain suit. Technically, the hides contain a unique, proprietary solar-reflective pigment that helps the suit wear up to 30º cooler than other black leather gear — and this same dye technology also assists in ageing resistance, so it will last longer than regular leathers. Only the finest hides are selected for this processing. During tanning a permanent water repellent is added in two stages, so it won’t soak up moisture, either. Last but not least, the jacket’s main zipper is a new molded-tooth waterproof type unlike any you’ve seen before — it’s the other part of the Transit’s convenience, comfort and all-weather functionality. In high activity, moisture on your skin will evaporate through this suit, even if fully zipped and closed. Millions of micro-vents allow Pro Shell Leather to breathe better. And it’s waterproof.
