Aerostich   Siri Needs a New Answer About Motorcycling

Recent travel had us spending several days in Phoenix, AZ...without motorcycle. So, somewhat idly wishing we had one we said: “Siri, I want to ride a motorcycle.” She not-helpfully replied: “Now, you be careful on that thing.” Really, Siri? We know you’re a super-advanced A.I. and we appreciate your concern, but you seem to have missed the fact that motorcycling is well-worth it’s added risks and vulnerabilities, and that we’ve been making motorcycling safer and easier to enjoy every day for over 30 years.

Maybe Siri should be saying: “Me, too. I wish *I* could ride,” or “Ok. Riding’s sure great!” or “Easy to appreciate that. Have fun!”

What do you think Siri should say about motorcycling? Fill out a “bug report” here and let ‘em know: https://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html Please forward, publish or let your audience know about Siri’s limited awareness and her condescending attitude toward riding. Remind her that her dad Steve Jobs was a rider . Please reference either us aerostich.com or ridetowork.org as your source and help raise awareness about how motorcycles and scooters are a wonderful experience and a social good.

After we first got this response we tested this same question on other iPhones and at other locations. Siri has several different answers, depending on who's asking, and where the iPhone is located. But this particular response should be erased permanently (“Dave, Dave, I’m afraid Dave. Do you want to hear a song?”) Or maybe in your next device, ‘Ms. Cortana’ won’t be this condescending. Let Siri know. Teach her about riding. Help her do (and say) the right thing.
