Men's R-3 Light Tactical One Piece

As low as $1,427.00
SKU

The Tactical model eliminates the double-layer of abrasion-resistant fabric at the elbow/shoulder and knee areas. While slightly decreasing the total abrasion resistance at these areas, this allows the ultralight weight Tactical to wear even cooler and provides slightly more ease of movement. Everything else is the same as an R-3 Light. Available colors: black, grey, or hi-viz lime yellow.

  1. HIVis
In Nevada we lose 1-3 riders a week. Visibility is essential to survival. The Hi-Viz coloring of this suite is a big safety factor. Also I love the pockets to carry water, food and first aid supplies on a ride. It is stylish. I was at an event years ago and found most tourists took pictures of me riding by in my aerostich suit vs the traditional cruiser outfits. It is a keeper. And great to have in a heavy rain or storm.

  2. Game Changer
Aerostich is a game changer. I purchased the R-3 Light One Piece Suit. When I first started riding I was a minimalist on safety gear. I loved the "freedom" of a t-shirt while riding. Occasionally I would wear my biking jacket, with regular jeans and street shoes. Needless to say, I dressed for the ride, not the slide. That was a younger me, about 12 years ago. Well, after I wrapped myself around a tree going 50mph I took a break from riding. I recently I had my passion for riding reignited. I have a wife and 4 boys now. Going in, safety gear was at the top of the list. I was hesitant to about getting a full suit but in talking with the kind people at Aerostich I was convinced to give it a try. When I tried on the suit, quickly the professional staff saw some alterations that could be made to dial in the fit for me. I was concerned about not "feeling as free" on the bike and getting way too hot in the suit. I put off this review as I waited to find something that I didn't like about the suit. Here I am at last, to say that I am in love with this suit. It has plenty of ventilation for those hot days. I have hopped on the bike and taken it around the block then parked in the garage without my suit on. In that short time, I was amazed how naked I felt without my suit. Its as much a part of my ride as the seat is now. This suit is so well thought out. From the fit, zippers, ventilation, adjustability, and ease of taking it on and off. I can't imagine riding without it anymore. Because of this suit I can wear gym clothes, dress clothes or casual clothes anywhere I go. Rain? No problem. Heat? No problem. Cold temps? No problem, plenty of adjustability to beef up what you're wearing under your suit. This isn't an accessory; it is as vital to me as the helmet. This stuff is built to last. You will not regret this purchase.

  3. A must for long distance
We bought 3 Aerostitch one piece last fall for this trip My two brothers and I just returned from a 7,200 mile trip from Glacier, through Jasper, up to Dawson City, to Watson Lake to place a sign, up to Dawson City, accross the Klondike River and the Top of the World highway to TOK, AK. On to Fairbanks and up the haul road ( ice road, dalton highway) to the Artic Circle. Back to Fairbanks to Denali, to Telketna and down to Seward. Back north to Glacier View to watch them launch cars off a clif in the 4th of July. Down to Valdez where my brother coasted into one of only two gas stations in Valdez. Back up to TOK, Watson Lake and then South down the Cassier Highway, out of the Yukon into BC toward Seattle. Headed back east, entered the US and back to Kalispell MT

Wore the suits and heated gear under through driving rain. Never a wet spot. Dry and warm the entire trip. A must for long distance if you don't want any trouble. One on a Harley, another on a Wing and last in a BMW.

  4. Awesome
This is my second Aerostich one piece. I've owned the lined, and now the un-lined version. I also own two Darian jackets and the Darien pants. This suit is amazing. So comfortable and so well made. I love it. It's a lot of money, but when I had a "small" crash on my scooter, and wasn't wearing the suit, that cost me $60,000 in medical bills. This suit would have reduced or removed that problem - a lot!

Just stop thinking about it and buy it. I'm serious. If you ride a bike (and my regular ride is a BMW GSA) you need this thing.

  5. Fantastic
This suit is so good, that it's fantastic. I've been rockin' a Roadcrafter since the early 1990s! Shocking to believe. I thought there could be nothing better. There is. This suit is light and fast to put on, easy to layer under, the lighter fabric bunches up less when you bend a body or limb.

It's actually more comfortable to ride sporty style bikes in. I also use it for cool weather dual sporting.

This is a great choice as a second suit if you have a Classic Roadcrafter as I do, but I would easily get this as an only suit.

It also bunches up small enough that you can get it into a saddle bag. Due to this it fulfills the promise of the Roadcrafter. Get into and out the suit fast and stow it away easily on the bike. Now, you don't need to bring the suit into the restaurant or carry it along with you.

Summer riding even in hot weather is a total joy. If there is one to have, it's this one.

  6. My first one-piece.
My new R-3 is working great. I've been wearing it for four or five months now. After about 15 years of two-piece Roadcrafters, I've managed to adjust to the different way of getting in/out of the one-piece suit. ;-) We've had a really hot/dry spring and summer in Portland, so I've appreciated the fact that it runs cooler than my old suits (the snap-down collar is great in the heat). I've only had one decent rain test, when we had an advanced motor officer class get rained out in the spring (I only took it out on fairly decent days over the winter...to preserve the spanky newness, you know). The go-kart track we use is quite slick when it's wet, so we don't run there unless it's dry. I ended up riding back home to Portland in about 30 minutes of steady/moderate rain. 7. Love it
I have had this suit for 2 years (then called the Ultralight) and am very happy with it. Completely waterproof, easy and fast to get in and out of, and comfortable in all 4 seasons depending on how you dress under it, what could be better?
