Zippers slide nice
Review by Toby Z on 3/18/12 -
I enjoy how the zippers slide smoother after washing with NikWax.

TX Direct Wash-in Repellent
Review by Greg on 3/15/12 -
Have been using it once per year since I got my Darien (5 years) and have never gotten wet. Wash once w/ detergent or Tech Wash, once w/ no detergent and then once w/ 4 capsful of TX Direct.

works great for me
Review by PDX Rider on 10/22/11 -
I've been wearing aero suits x 18 yrs (first roadcrafter, then Darien) for year-round riding in the pacific NW, so I know about rain and waterproofing. Every 2-3 years I use the TX direct (whole bottle) and I've never had a leak.

Aerostich Customer Service
Review by customerservice on 7/30/10 -
Steve, we dropped Scotchgard because it stopped selling. We think the reason it did is because Camp Dry, #330, a similar product we do sell, does as goood a job as Scotchguard but at a lower cost.

Worked For Me
Review by David on 7/27/10 -
My Darien got so dirty I decided to wash it. After running it through the machine a couple of times I decided to waterproof it in the sink applying the NIKWAX. You are supposed to use less hand washing so it lasts longer. You can feel the wax in the NIKWAX attaching to your hands and the suit. Also if you hand wash you don't have to rinse as much.
Anyway I was out in the rain this weekend and the Jacket did not leak a drop. Worked for me.

3M Scotchgard
Review by Steve on 7/9/10 -
The answer to this problem is 3M Scotchgard (Green can). Aerostitch used to sell this.
I've used it for over 10 years on my Darien coat and pants. Just returned from a 3500 mile trip with rain everyday. Works perfectly!!

I'm having the same issue...
Review by Gregory Paik on 8/30/07 -
I'm having the same issue, but notice that I didn't use the right recommended quantity (whole bottle). Did you use the whole bottle or just part of it?

OK, well, it was bound to...
Review by Brian Lewis on 7/23/07 -
OK, well, it was bound to happen - after years of satisfaction with every product purchased from Aerostitch (and that's a lot of products) I got a dud. I followed the instructions for this product to the Tee. I washed my 2-piece Roadcrafter by itself with the Granger G-wash detergent in a new front-loading Maytag Neptune HE washer, then washed in the Nikwax repellent. And it just flat out didn't work. I have another Nikwax product that didn't work either - the Glove Proof has been completely ineffectual.
I need serious waterproofing - any ideas?
