Great tent, but for one

Review by Leggie on 11/20/11

I've had this tent for several seasons now and can confidently say that it rocks in all respects except two person capacity. Unless the two people are sub 6 footers and each are 100 pounds, this is a good, one person tent. Fast to setup and take down, super water resistant, it's simply a well made product that should last for years with proper maintenance.

Dissappointed

Review by Robert on 10/12/11

After my 20 year old Timberline was damaged in a storm I began looking for a replacement tent for motorcycle camping. The Morpho 2P looked like just what I wanted; easy to pack and easy to set up / tear down. On the plus side I have sat through a few pretty heavy windstorms and thunderstorms and the tent held up very well. The reason for my disappointment was due to the limited ventilation this tent provides. Camping at a few rallies I attended during the spring and fall where the temperatures drop at night left the inside of this tent soaking wet. The single wall fabric does not breathe well enough to allow moisture to escape, allowing it instead to collect all over the inside of the tent. The first time I experienced this my head touched the top of the tent shaking the accumulated condensation loose all over my gear and sleeping bag. While this doesn't happen under all conditions, it does occur enough to make me start looking for a different tent. For a tent this small with a price tag this large I would expect better.

Quality Tent

Review by TB on 9/26/11

I hadn't camped since Boy Scout days, which were very long ago for me. I wanted something that wouldn't give me trouble. This tent is a quality piece with lots of little features that are great..a pocket to hold a light, some hangers inside for whatever, a couple inconspicuous pockets along the floor... You can set it up with no outrigger ropes and it will stay up. Add ropes and it's even stronger. I too rode out two huge storms in this tent where I was afraid for my bike, but I stayed dry, unmusty and comfortable all night. Rain drops on the tent material are pretty entertaining when you're stuck in there with your ipod all day. It's not an airy tent for very hot weather, but it's got ventilation that works even in rain and you don't need a rainfly. You don't need to carry poles but you do need to carry a pump...I still like it a lot. You don't see these everywhere so it's easy to find your tent at a rally.

I love this tent!

Review by Liz on 4/24/11

I bought this tent last year (no poles!! What a great idea!) and haven't been disappointed. It's roomy enough for my husband and I plus a small amount of gear. We took it on a 2 week bike trip on the Alcan (camped more than half the time) and it was so easy to set up and take down, giving us more relaxing time in camp. It also takes up less space in the panniers than a more traditional tent. No condensation issues, no problems with the one day of drizzle (haven't tested it in a prolonged downpour yet), and the headlamp pocket is genius for tent lighting. This is a great piece of kit!

Superb bike camping tent

Review by David on 1/16/10

I have played with the Morpho some, but I own a different Nemo air beam tent that is no longer available. My air beam tent is outstanding, and lacking conventional poles, takes up much less space on the bike. I have spent the night in Colorado winds I feared would blow my bike over, and the tent rode out the fury with aplomb. I have had rainy nights in NC with not a hint of clamminess, thanks to the excellent breathable fabric. And I can set up and take down my Nemo faster than any other tent I have owned. I recommended Aerostich carry the Nemo and recommend you buy one. I'm a fan.
