A Thoroughly Enjoyable Ride Back to the 70's

Mark Richardson has written a witty, insightful, and engrossing story of his re-tracing the route travelled by Pirsig and his son across America. Along the way he meets some of the original book's real characters, and the places which Pirsig visited, along with Richardson's own adventures and mishaps. More than a travelogue, this book explains the troubled life of Pirsig and to decipher Pirsig's impenetrable philosophy. It turns out few people ever read the whole of Pirsig's book, and fewer can claim to understand it. A worthwhile read.
