I live in North Idaho and on morning rides these keep my hands and fingers warm. I decided to install a 12v relay so it could be switched on only if the key is switched on.

very effective, will dry out gloves if you want. I did not wire in the resistor for the low heat setting; full power all the time might be to much unless it's near freezing.
