I live in Ohio and commute all year long on bike. I installed these grips in mid November. Temps so far have ranged on a typical morning from 17F to 40F. The HIGH setting is really high and in my mind only effective below 25F (you may burn your hands above that temperature). The LO setting is nearly useless; takes the chill of when riding in the high 40s or low 50s. Unfortunately this leaves a gap from about 25-45 F where there is no useful setting. I'm going to look around for a resistor that provides better LO functionality. (Posted on 12/7/12)

I live in North Idaho and on morning rides these keep my hands and fingers warm. I decided to install a 12v relay so it could be switched on only if the key is switched on. (Posted on 9/15/11)

very effective, will dry out gloves if you want. I did not wire in the resistor for the low heat setting; full power all the time might be to much unless it's near freezing. (Posted on 6/1/07)
