Weak Velcro
Review by Nikko on 12/16/11 -
I found the same as others, the velcro is weak and feel like it will not hold. I have not used the Evap-O Danna on the bike yet. I may send it back for a wind triangle. I am looking for light weight, comfortable neck protection..

A recent upgrade has been made, using a stronger hook and material.

Velcro NG
Review by Fishnbiker on 9/14/11 -
Before ordering this product I read the negative reviews. I just assumed that in view of these reviews the problem with the velcro had been fixed. Why would a store continue to sell a product with a known defect.?
Well, it has not been fixed and I have the same crummy velcro everyone else has.
I hope aerostitch recalls this product for repair.

These things saved our trip!
Review by Jeff on 8/24/11 -
I rarely (if ever) provide reviews on products. I expect the product to deliver on the functionality I purchased it for. If it doesn't, I'll never deal with the seller again. If it does, then the seller fulfilled their end of the deal.
However, this case is the exception!
Two of us recently made a 4900 mile trip in 8 days, from the Carolina's to Arizona (Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, etc.). We scheduled this trip in 2010 and executed it in August of 2011. Our route was I-40 through Tennessee, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and finally Arizona. These states have all registered record heat waves for the 2011 summer... easily exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit every day in July and August.
I have to say that had we not had these Evap-O-Danna's, I seriously doubt that we would have been able to complete our trip.
These things are amazing, and I would recommend them to anyone that's even thinking about riding in 90+ degree weather.
Out of the bag, they were a little stiff and difficult to secure around your neck (Velcro wouldn't stay together), but after a day’s usage - these things loosened up and they were great! We’d fill these things up with ice during our fuel stop and wrap them around our necks, where they’d provide a cool neck and back for the next 2.5 hours. Simply, fantastic!

The bean counters got ahold of this one
Review by The Old Guy on 8/1/11 -
The basic idea is GREAT, and it works. However, the "hook and loop" closure dosen't. Shoud have spent a few pennies more and used real Velcro. The hooks will not hold it closed even when dry. Will not stay around my neck or even hold together when being held in my hand.

Velcro is JUNK!!
Review by Desert Silver on 7/26/11 -
I've had the competition model and have had a lot of problems with the velcro coming undone. The last time it happened it completely came off and was lost on the side of the road. Luckly I found it on my way home today. The thing I do very much like about it is it helps keep me cool on my 90 mile commute home everyday. As a side benefit it helps keep bees out of my jacket (I've been stung twice when not using it) while keeping me cool.

To small
Review by L M on 7/26/11 -
I bought this for an upcoming trip thru Nevada & Arizone. I tried it on and found it would not fit around my neck. This is after I called the customer service number to verify it would fit around my neck. Either I was lied to or the rep has bad information from the manufacturer that he gave out.

Nice, without a catch . . .
Review by RichardL on 7/21/11 -
I've enjoy the Aerostich Wind Triangle for two winters now, and it is flat out awesome. I keep an extra just in case.
The Evap-O-Danna is based on the same concept, but the hook and loop fastener is not strong enough to keep it from coming undone when wet/filled with ice. I removed the hook and loop strips and hand-sewed two metal hook fasteners in their place. Now it works like a charm.

Nice, without a catch . . .
Review by Decimus on 7/21/11 -
I've used the Aerostich Wind Triangle for the past couple of years and absolutely love it. Several riders have ordered one based on my recommendation.
The Evap-O-Danna is based on the same basic concept, and it does work, providing relief from the heat. The design could be improved, however: the hook and loop fastener is not strong enough to stay attached when the Evap-O-Danna is wet (thus heavier,) and definitely not strong enough to stay on with ice inside it. I removed the hook and loop strips and hand-sewed metal hooks on. Now it works like a charm!

The Hot-I mean COOL set-up
Review by Kirbinator on 8/6/10 -
I bought 2 competition Evap-O Dannas years ago & never used them until this summer (2010) On June 30th I rode from Bryce Canyon to San Diego via Las Vegas. It was over 108 degrees & up to 115 degrees for 4-5 hours of riding. Soaked the Evap-O Danna in water & wore it under my mesh jacket & I have to say this thing made the ride much more bearable. In those temperatures it was good for about 2-1/2 hours. My buddy put a wet bandana around his neck & it was dry in about 30 minutes. I loaned one to another friend to use on a ride from Florida to Atlanta last week (July) & he loved it. I'm buying one right now for him!
