Fits like a....glove Review by Peter
I would recommend these gloves to anyone. I just completed a Labor Day weekend ride logging around 1,400 miles right through the Midwest hot flash ending at 106 degrees in Kansas. I have to say, those gloves were great and felt cooler than my older gloves which contain some air vent holes for circulation. The most amazing thing is they felt soft and broken in the moment I put them on. (Posted on 9/5/13)
Comfort and durability Review by Ricky
This is the third pair of Elk skin ropers I've used. The first 2 pairs were very comfortable with little breakin required. Warm weather comfort was outstanding. These gloves held up to many miles of hard riding before having to be replaced. The third pair were purchased for my every other year trip To Rhode Island from Louisiana trip and they preformed as expected. These are my go to gloves for all but the coldest weather (Posted on 7/8/13)
New favorite gloves Review by Tom
Love them, broke in quickly and very comfortable. (Posted on 6/12/13)
Excellent fit and construction Review by Sally_Forth
The Elkskin leather is thick and yet very soft. I was right between two sizes and chose the smaller. The fit is perfect. The glove fingers are the right length when curled around a grip. (Posted on 10/17/12)
Competition Roper vs Deerskin/elkskin gauntlet Review by Pete
I've had 2 pair of Aero gauntlets (deerskin/elkskin palms) have loved them best glove ever in (+40 years of motorcycling), love the soft deerskin tops & the longer gauntlet 'til last season's purchase of Aero Competition Roper. Now I'm not so sure. The shorter Comp. Roper impresses me with it'seasy on & off, excellent durability of elkskin leather. Even wet they're warm ?~ must be the elk thing. Jury's still considering the final verdict - must ride more to deliberate on this ruling. Carry on providing us with such a fine product at a bargain price. Goggles (Posted on 6/27/12)
Why didn't I buy these sooner Review by DLS
Really, why didn't I buy these sooner? These are the best gloves I've ever had, first ride they felt as comfortable as an old pair of jeans. Buy them, you will not regret it, same as any Aerostich product I've had so far. FYI, they look better with a little road grunge anyway, Nothing looks as good new as it does in the 'well used' state, these will look that way quick because you won't want to take them off. Snug Review by Pat RI
I have several pairs of riding gloves, including some bison gloves, and a ratty old pair of elkskin work gloves. The old gloves are comfortable, so I decided to try these competition elkskin ropers. I have never ordered a pair of gloves to an exact size, so I measured 4 times and ordered once. They are as advertised, however, I am right handed and measured my left hand. Result; the left glove is a perfect fit, and the right is a bit snug. I'm sure it will stretch more as they are worn, but with some forethought I would have measured my right hand. As for the comfort, they are great to ride with, and even have enough length and width at the top to gauntlet over my jacket sleeves, while being trim enough to fit underneath them without a lot of extra bulk. A great product and I'm sure to enjoy them for a long time, as they are extremely well made, and comfortable, right hand snugness aside. (Posted on 5/23/12)
Great Gloves Review by Matt In OZ
Great gloves - as advertised, super soft, tight initially but are stretching in and shaping to my hands, feel great and surprisingly warm in the Australian winter
Looking forward to more miles ( sorry-Kilometers over here) in these gloves
great feel
Also super impressed with the speed of delivery - sent on Tuesday (USA) and here at my door on Friday (Australia) - wow

super gloves Review by Jim in New Mexico
Elkskin Ropers are great gloves--these are better. The added protection at the knuckles and the security strap are a significant improvement--I know from experience. My original Ropers won't wear out after 100,000 miles or more. These are now my first choice for all seasons. Comfortable, well-fitting, warm when its above 50F, not too hot when the weather is, and the price can't be beat. (Posted on 5/21/12)
competition elk skin ropers Review by chris
One word Awesome! My only complaint is the seam between the ring finger and pinky gets a bit annoying after a while. These definitely are some of the best gloves Ive owned through the years. (Posted on 5/11/12)

Washable Leather?

“All of the elkskin glove models are cut and sewn on the exact same patterns so they fit similarly from model to model, but there are slight variations from glove to glove because each glove is hand made and each section of elkhide is a little different. A great way to quickly custom-fit a new pair is to fully wet-saturate on a warm day when you know you'll be riding continuously for several hours, then let them dry and conform to the shape of your hands during that ride.

Elkskin and deerskin can be safely washed using warm water and mild soap. This removes accumulated dirt, oils and stains and will help gloves last longer and feel nicer. After rinsing to remove residual soap, gloves should be gently wrung damp and allowed to dry gradually at room temperature. Do not apply direct heat when drying. They shrink slightly but will stretch to fit during wear.”
