The design has been revised and the knee pads are now lower.

Knee pad palcement sucksReview by Normal Legs
The knee pads are WAY ouf of position - more like thigh pads. Aerostitch, did you consult a set of anthropometric tables or just eyeball it. It's a shame because they are great pants otherwise. (Posted on 9/21/10)

Same as the othersReview by Joe
Have to repeat what many of the others experienced. The pads ride high when riding. I have a VStrom and FZ1 and on both find the pads out of position. This is a puzzle as I don't have the problem with my Roadcrafter II. I also agree they run large. I got a 34" length figuring they would shrink up, but even with hot water and high dry, I have to hem them. Last issue I have is that because they are loose, the 5-loop design feels inadequate for the belt vs a 7-loop. On the plus side, I love having a set of jeans I can run quick errands on and not have to crawl into and out of my Roadcrafter, while still having some protection for my knee caps. good/ could be betterReview by c-zulu
Fit nice. Need to lower the knee pads and they would be excellent (Posted on 7/24/10)
Thigh pads vs knee padsReview by ST1300
I ordered pants longer than street jeans to be certain of boot top coverage but on a moderately forward leaning ST1300 the knee pads are well above knee and afford no protection. Might be ok for cruisers? (Posted on 6/20/10)
Another "good, but"Review by Art
I agree with two other reviewers that the knee pads aren't positioned well. Mine protect my thighs quite well, but don't quite make it to what they are supposed to protect. The pants fit very well, and the comfort of the gusseted crotch is quite welcome. I really like these pants, but do wish the knee pads were better placed. (Posted on 5/17/10)
good but...Review by tim in maine
Good quality comfortable jeans but the knee pads are a little high for me (inseam 32, ordered 34 to overcome riding up over boot tops). Just barely cover knee - most of pad is just above knee when riding. Needed the extra length, so maybe 32 inseam would place pads just right. Something to consider when ordering.. (Posted on 5/6/10)
Very Utilitarian Review by Brad
These Jeans are as described . They look a little funky when walking around ( baggy and the knee pads stick out at the sides) but I don"t care .I do need to pull them down when riding so they cover my knees.Very well made.Overall good local riding protection. (Posted on 4/24/10)
Just As Advertised!Review by Sal
Love them! Fit is great. I wear a size 34/30, that's what I ordered and they are right on target. Heavy enough to provide decent protection and still be comfortable. Perfect for short commutes and day rides in good weather. I still wear the Dariens for longer trips. I've worn them to work for two days now and have no complaints. Highly recommend.
