  1. You can't go wrong with this bag...
I used this to pack my clothing on the back of my KLR for a trip from Panama to San Antonio during the rainy season... in 1999. It kept everything bone dry. I still use it today for camping. Friendly adventure tour tip: If you can, go with soft bags instead of hard bags. Their "give" makes things much easier on your bike's frame when negotiating rough terrain.

  2. Like Andy Says: Best Way To Pack
I won't go on about quality of construction and all that; others have done that for me. I will say that I just got off two weeks on the road on my Triumph T120, with everything I needed in a large Ortlieb duffel. I do have a magnetic tank bag for the usual tank bag stuff (see Aerostich's "What's In Your Tank Bag?" video - https://youtu.be/E4Fz_4NGYI0) and a small Kriega waterproof for my tools and Aerostich tire repair kit, but everything else is in the Ortlieb. 5 changes of underwear, socks and t-shirts (doing laundry on the road is part of the trip so enjoy it and quit trying to pack for every day). One pair of jeans, one pair of shorts, and a pair of walking-quality sandals. For evenings in nicer watering holes, I pack two of those hot-weather "polo" shirts (rhymes with "farm-a-pillow") from Aerostich's cross-town neighbors (rhymes with "forsooth fading") because they work, pack small and wrinkles shake out easily. My CPAP goes in three separate Aero fleece bags as it makes it easier to pack. My toilet kit and c-phone charger complete the list. Just in case, there's room for a sweatshirt and my electric jacket liner for higher elevations, and I always include my insulated coffee mug with some Starbucks instant packets as I don't trust motel coffee makers. That's it. It all straps to my Bonnie just nicely. I can stay out a weekend, a month or even two months, provided of course, I motel it. For camping, I add the Orlieb saddle bags, but that's another review.

  3. 15-year-old bag still in use
About 15 years ago I bought an Ortlieb dry bag duffle to use on my KLR. I used it on two separate KLRs and loved it. Gave it to a friend when I got a bike with hard luggage, and he is still using it today. I just ordered a new one to use on dual sport I just added to my garage. Won't make the mistake of ever giving this one away.

  4. Great Ortlieb Dry Bag
This is our second Dry bag from Aerostitch. The first one performs so well as luggage in all types of weather. It truely is waterproof, but so well made that is a must for any road trip.

  5. Bombproof
I've had this Ortlieb bag now for about 5 years -and it has been fantastic. Use if for more than just cycle trips. Of particular note - last week while riding the Blue Ridge mountains, I failed to properly secure the bag and lost it on the highway at 70mph. Fortunately nobody ran it over or was hurt - the bag had a few scuff marks but HELD TOGETHER - it was completly stuffed tight - and held amazingly. i was sure it would have exploded - awesome bag.

  6. dry bag- mulita tasking luggage value
I've had my dry bag for 15 years. at first it was for the bike- keep my stuff dry. then I started using it for air travel luggage. then as a dry bag- what else?- for my kayaking.
it is so easy to pack, almost indestructible- that I don't know what I'd use in its place.

  7. Ortlieb rack pack 4.9
I am really happy with the bag and the price was right. I got it much cheaper here than even Amazon. I would highly recommend the seller. After I order the bag I saw the same bag for less and I email Aero stich and they match the difference no questions asked. Great costumer service. Thank you.

  8. Great bag
Just returned home from my first trip using this bag: a 3,100 + mile dash to Key West and back. The bag performed greatly. Fantastic!

  9. Long Tour requirement
I toured from west TX to upper Manitoba on a Multistrada 1200S Touring. I expected heat this summer, but was dogged by rain from the 4-corners all the way up to Canada and back. I teach online, so I needed waterproof containment and the hard sided bags were not an option. I have two bags, a L and an XL. The L held my one piece Roadcrafter/vented suit, depending on conditions. The XL held my clothes and the laptop. These bags are so much better than the Givi top box and much cheaper. I strapped the two bags together using the attached straps, then strapped down to the bike using quick release cargo straps. The amount of gear I was able to pack was on par with my old Goldwing.

  10. Ortlieb Duffel Bag
I have the larger size Ortlieb for longer trips. This size is perfect for weekend or short trips.

This bag and the larger one is AWESOME. Keeps my clothes completely dry and very easy to use. You won't be disappointed with his bag.
