Okay yeah, this is kind of ridiculous. You don't need it. But face it - you've spent way more money than this on toys that you don't really need.
You don't want to go hunting for an old can to crush. Or fold over some cardboard to stuff under your stand.
Paying $8 for the cheap plastic stand plate that has some store's name on it seems silly too. At least this one looks boss. When your friends laugh at you for pulling it out at the coffee shop, just smile and shrug. Don't worry. When you use the cord to pick it up, and they're getting back off their bike to pick up theirs because they forgot it, they'll have a hint of regret for laughing at you. And next time you meet up for coffee, don't be surprised to see them with one, too.
