  1. Still in use
I bought my roadcrafter (two piece) suit back in 1994 for about cdn$1100. I still use it as my trust worthy daily vacation touring suit and it still does not leak any rain water. Amazing! That’s $37.93 per year :>)

  2. No Regrets!
I've been looking at the Aerostich Roadcrafter for 2-years online and just recently ordered it. You'll have to have patience to get one in as it took 2-months to get my in. Once the suit showed up, I was more than impressed by the craftsmanship of the suit, the size was perfect, no thanks for emailing back and forth to Aerostich. I was able to get on the road and did a 100 mile winter ride with it and the wind protection was great, however, if you wear a big watch you'll get some wind through the wrist cuff area. As for the pants, I ride a BMW R1250GS so I had good wind protection on my legs, however, I did get a bit cold on top of my legs, I do have the Aerostich Wind Pro fleece pants on order, so that should take care of the legs. As for the comfort of the jacket in cold riding, temps were 37F with high winds, I had a t-shirt on along with a sweatshirt and a heated jacket on and I was plenty warm.

  3. Well Worth the Investment
I was on the fence about purchasing a riding suit, but then I asked myself; "what is your skin worth?" My first try fit like a glove, and that was the problem, no room for layers underneath; I had taken my measurements and ordered according to my waist and chest measurements. I ended up taking advantage of the return policy and stepped everything up one size, and in conjunction with ordering short sized to better fit arm and inseam length, and a forward lean ellipse I was probably able to get the best fit possible off the rack. I also ordered a bib converter for winter use. In the past few days, I have experienced riding in a temperature range from 38 to 70 degrees F, and the ability to layer underneath has worked marvelously. The suit is already starting to break in after only a couple of rides, and I can foresee it becomes quite more comfortable. I am very, very impressed with the Roadcrafter Classic Two Piece, and do not have an inkling of buyer's remorse.

  4. Good stuff
Good stuff. I bought my roadcrafter after seeing one in a cafe in Brainard, Mn when they had their first World Superbike race, whenever that was...lots of years ago. I never expected it to be rainproof, but it has been nearly rainproof in many downpours, and even protection in snow. I love it for cold weather riding. It has extended my Midwest riding by, at least, a month.

  5. Roadcrafter
I picked up my Roadcrafter at your shop on Thursday, June 25. It was a great experience. I left my old jacket and pants to be shipped back to Texas.

From Duluth, I headed to the north and then across the US toward Washington state. For three days I encountered nonstop rain. Seriously, 3 days, nonstop rain. My waterproof boots ... were not waterproof. My waterproof gloves were not. My Aerostich suit held the water out completely.

In the hot weather I encountered in Utah, Colorado, and Texas I was able to either open up the vents or I could keep them closed and use a water bottle to create evaporative cooling. Either way, the suit provided superior protection and great cooling. (Motorcycle suits are always going to be warm in the summer)

I know that you know how good your suits are. I know your current customers know how good the suits are. I just hope to be able to help your future customers know the quality and capabilities of these fine riding suits.

  6. 60 degree swing in temps in a day - no problem
I just returned from a multi-day trip covering California, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado. The Roadcrafter Classic was my perfect companion. In one day, we had over a sixty degree swing in temperatures. When we started in the early morning hours, I zipped up the vents, put on an extra layer, and had no issues with cold. My riding partner (riding behind me) commented that the reflective stripe jumped out at him.

When the sun came up and the thermometer started rising to 100, I unzipped the various vents, and had no problems.

Here's a little trick for the very hot (90s and higher) weather - spill some bottled water on your shirt sleeves and chest, and wrap a pair of socks that have been soaked in water around your neck. Then put the jacket on over the shirt. The air coming up the jacket sleeves gets cooled by the evaporation from the water and it is actually very refreshing. (Don't forget to stay hydrated and drink some of the water, too.)

Thank you Aerostich. What a great product.

  7. Love My Roadcrafter 2-Piece
So far I haven’t come across an Aerostich product that isn’t well-made, durable, practical, and shows foresight and forethought into its design. The Roadcrafter 2-Piece is no exception.

After returning from a 5200-mile, 8-state jaunt through extreme heat, cold, and rain, I can’t be more pleased with the investment I made in my Roadcrafter.

In the hot, dry, desert conditions of UT, NV, AZ, and CA I used the vents in my suit and they worked as advertised.

In driving rain at highway speeds I stayed dry.

In the chilly conditions of the high-country, including over the Beartooth Pass at 10,900 feet, I was warm, with layers.

I always felt protected (and visible) in my Roadcrafter. I event use it for commuting.

Loving it and will continue to do so. I really appreciate the Owner’s Guide that came with the suit, as well as the label in both pieces signed by the manufacturing team members that had a hand in its creation. THIS is what American Made is all about, ladies and gentlemen; pride, quality, esprit-de-corps.

    Thanks again, Aerostich, great job!

  8. A product that lasts
I just returned from a ten day motorcycle trip on the Alaska Highway to Anchorage where we encountered heavy rain, sleet, a little hail and some snow. Most days the temperature ranged from 35 to 55, with a few afternoons in the low 60s.

I wore my faded, red, 20 year old, two piece, Roadcrafter suit and nearly as old Kanetsu Electric Vest.

When the weather changed the rest of the group had to stop to put on rain gear and then stop to take it off. When it got too cold they stopped to put on rain gear to cut the cold. I certainly was not a a fashion statement, but when things got bad I just kept on riding and if it was too cold I just reached down and turned on the vest, cozy. As a side benefit I think that the faded suit might have lent some credibility to my experience. I have replaced the armor at least once for a margin of safety.

I am sure that my story is not unique; I just wanted to reinforce your adherence to a standard of function over style.

Today I am returning the pants for a zipper repair in the hopes that I can get at least another eight years of riding out of it. Then when I am 80 I will probably consider a new one.

Thank you for a product that lasts.

  10. The Gold Standard
I've had my Roadcrafter 2-piece for over 20 years now. It has had some crash damage repairs, and has had some waste gussets installed due to my >ahem< middle age spread. I've ridden in the snow in the North Cascades, in Phoenix in July, in South Florida in September, and it has kept me cool, warm, dry, and safe. I have had other jackets and pants, but none come close to the versatility, comfort and ease of use of the Roadcrafter. It's obvious which ones were "designed in paper" rather than designed by riders. The 'Stich is designed by riders. There has been some internet criticism of price, and all I can say is what other gear lasts 20 years? There has been some criticism of the venting, but in the end the 'Stich's vents flat work, are easy to use, and except for the back vent, can be opened and closed while on the run. Try that with other brands. The back vent can stay open pretty much all the time, even in the rain, provided you do it right and have the two zippers meet in the middle instead of one end. And a riding suit is no good if it is a pain to get on and off. Annual washing and application of water-proofing spray means no rain suit taking up pannier space. If you ride a lot, in all kinds of weather, in all kinds of traffic, the Roadcrafter truly is the Gold Standard.
