Medium Motofizz Camping Seat Bag

Product Review (submitted on August 3, 2010):

I bought this bag to go on the back of my R100/7 for a trip to the Black Hills last week. I did 1,650 miles with this bag over 5 days. I also used a magnetic tank bag for easy access (with ziplocks to hold stuff that I want to keep dry). My old Krauser bags are getting unreliable, so I wanted a single bag I could carry in to the hotels. This bag worked great. It was very easy to attach and re-attach. Worked great as soft side luggage once off the bike. The bag was extremely stable at sustained speeds up to 80 MPH and the material very durable. It was easy to get into the main compartment of the bag from either side when on the bike due to an excellent design. The "food bag" holds my helmet for slow rides, or it held my Aerostich Roadcrafter and Darien pants. It would easily hold clothes for a much longer trip but I'm glad I bought the medium because it holds my riding gear plus my clothes. I read the reviews that the bag itself is not rain-proof so I packed my gear in three Sea-to-Summit sil bags. I always use these sil bags for organization, whether backpacking or traveling on an airplane, and they are totally waterproof. After a three hour hard rain (without the rain cover), the jeans that I had put loose in the bag were wet but the bag itself wasn't very wet, so the water probably came through the zippers. My stuff in the sil bags was dry. I will use this bag as my primary travel bag in the future, but I will stick with my Sea-to-Summit sil bags for use inside the bag to guarantee that my things keep dry. The rain cover looks like an okay quality, but it's tricky to get it secured very well since the bag itself has a large outside dimensions. I have two straps with Fast-tek buckles that go around the bag with the raincover on and if expecting an all day downpour I could get it secure and it would be okay. I would buy this bag again for my bike. P.S. I was the only guy out of 7 riders wearing an Aerostich jacket (had it for 5 years) in that three hour rain and I was the only guy to stay dry. My riding companions kidded me at first, but by the end of the trip even the guys on Harleys asked about my jacket.
