I have a small one I use for my collection of Useful Stuff: leatherman, measuring tape, earplugs, tyre gauge, magnifier, torch, notepad, pen...

It fits neatly in tankbag, backpack, handbag, anything I want to throw it in.

It is water resistant but not water proof, so splashes and a bit of dampness are OK, but sitting in water or getting rained on for more than a minute or so are not.

It's quite tough fabric, although i don't know how it would go with the abrasion of sliding around in a mostly empty topbox. Sitting in a tankbag or pack it's fine.
