The first Aerostich messenger bag was introduced in 1985. We patterned it (a 'Courier' model ) from a bag used by professional bicycle and motorcycle couriers at that time, and which was made of heavy canvas, had no hook-and-loop on its flap, no reflective materials anywhere, no shoulder strap-length cam adjuster, no side-release flap buckles and no inside pockets. The Aerostich Courier bag was the very first one to incorporate these features and also was the first to incorporate modern materials like Cordura nylon, nylon webbing and Delrin buckles and adjusters. Every Aerostich messenger bag is handcrafted in the United States (one expert sews each bag entirely), and they remain the strongest, most comfortable, most versatile and most durable messenger bags available.
