OK for the job, but need time to get used to the cumbersomeness Review by Sarah
I bought 2 sets of these for my husband and my self prior to a tour from CA to CO. We knew we would hit weather in the high country, and we definitely did. Lots of rain.

Having read the reviews we had already sprayed the palms with plastic-dip to improve the grip, and it did the job. The gloves themselves fit over our leather gloves fine, but because they have to fit over another pair of gloves, there is a lot of extra (read: in-the-way) material. This was catching on our horns, interfering with buttons and levers, and overall being a bit of a pain while riding and having to constantly wipe our visors and manage our speed in backed up traffic through the mountains on the interstate.

Now, I imagine they would perform well when on the road with no traffic issues, but it became a bit problematic when having to work through slow and stopped traffic due to numerous accidents from the weather.

Utilizing one finger to hold the brakes while keeping throttle control on a hill when stopped was more of an issue, the lobster claw aspect keeps fingers together in pairs, no split index finger capability. This bothered me a lot! I may have liked a design where the index finger is separated with its own compartment, and I think I read another reviewer mention this on the long gauntlet.

Some would say we need to ride more with them to become accustomed to their feel, but for now I think we'll be happier when using these off road in wet back country rides, and stay in the market for a solid pair of waterproof gloves for street riding. (Posted on 11/19/18)
Pretty good, could be improvedReview by tim
I notice good improvements to these versus my old triple-digit covers. Two additional suggestions: 1) the end of each cover should be permanently folded over to create a channel preventing water from just running straight past the covers, and 2) sizes are too close to glove size, so its hard to get L over L (9.5) gloves; make them slightly bigger.
Note that I don't have any problems with grip. (Posted on 7/18/18)
unfinishedReview by Lloyd
These need to be finished. The gauntlet is not big enough to fit over your Jacket sleeve at all and the palm of the glove needs to have a grippe type of surface. I have 3 MCs and I cant hold on the the throttle on any of them while wearing these gloves. the instructions that come with the glove tells you what to buy and spray on the palm of the glove to improve the grip. In my opinion the maker of the finest riding gear in the world (I honesty mean that) needs to spry this product on the palm of the glove before it is sold. They do keep you dry but they are so slippery you cant even hold on to one glove with the other to put them on. The glove needs a bigger gauntlet and a grippe palm. (Posted on 5/21/18)
Nicely made!Review by Gary
The short gauntlet covers arrived in good shape. They seem very nicely made. I bought them for my son whose favorite gloves are not waterproof. He's always showing up with soaked hands. I'm hoping these covers will help him ride more comfortably in the winter. (Posted on 12/2/16)
These really fit the bill...Review by Bob1811
For years I’ve looked at these rain covers as a viable alternative to the, (not so waterproof) “fully waterproof, motorcycle rain gloves.” My initial concern was that I considered it to be counter intuitive, that the long gauntlet design would keep the rain out, even with the sleeves tightly cinched. With this concern in mind, I decided to purchase a triple digit short gauntlet type of rain cover from another company. It turned out that not only was the gauntlet length too short to tuck sufficiently under my jacket, but the quality was poor; so much that, they were actually better at retaining water inside my gloves than keeping it out.

I was very happy to see that Aerostich came out with this alternative to the long gauntlet, so I purchased a pair. I had a chance to really test these out this summer while on a 16-day, 7,500-mile trip, where it rained to some degree almost every day. I experienced monsoon-like downpours, steady all-day drizzle, combined with high winds, low temps and even some hail. In short, the rain covers remained bone dry through the trip and performed superbly.

It took a little time to get used to the feel of the rain covers while operating the throttle, clutch and other controls. It’s not a serious control issue, just a different feel from the glove-only hand; it becomes normal with some practice.

For quick access in response to pop-up rainstorms, I stored them in the long left side pocket of my Darien jacket. I know this is a bit dangerous, but out on the open roads, when weather threatened and with the assistance of cruise control, I became skilled at putting on the gauntlets while riding and tucking the gauntlet into my jacket sleeves. As an added benefit, I put them on chilly mornings. The rain covers provide a good amount of wind protection, extending the effect range of my summer gloves. This really helped while riding in the mountains. The covers worked on both my summer and mid-season gloves without issue.

I would highly recommend these for anyone who travels extensively and needs a well made and effective, “all-day dry,” glove alternative.
