I am a long time motorcyclist starting off in 1967 at the age of 16. At age 19 I completed my first long distance trip traveling from London, England (my home town) to Tangier Morocco on a 250 Yamaha, with a passenger in two weeks. I would have gone further except an Arab stole my glasses. The next year it was a month in Greece and so it continued. In 1978 I made up for my bad luck in Tangier by traveling to the edge of the Sahara desert on a Gold Wing taking one month. In 1986 I settled in the U.S. and continued to explore on the Gold Wing.
I am also an industrial chemist working in the printing ink, paint and coatings industries until I resigned from my position as VP and Technical director of a large metallic pigment company in 2001. I had garnered a reputation as a creative and innovative thinker and had developed several industry changing products. I set up Innovia LLC and worked as a formulator consultant for companies based in the U.S., Belgium, Japan and Mexico until the financial crash of 2007 / 8 when I was left without work and few prospects at 56 years old.
About the same time however my step daughter opened a yoga studio and asked me to make her an eco-friendly floor cleaner. It was soon being used to clean rental yoga mats as well and she sent samples to a large yoga supplies company in California. I in the meantime conducted tests of every ingredient including 25 essential oils on as many yoga mats from different companies that I could find. I sent the results to all them and followed up with a visit.
Since they were spread far and wide across the U.S. and Canada and I could not afford the air fare, I loaded up my 1998 Triumph Sprint with tent and sleeping bag, donned my Roadcrafter suit and 10,800 miles and 30 days later had visited everyone. Since then, our business has grown and we are now the major supplier of private label yoga mat cleaner in the U.S.
In April 2016 I discovered a novel anti microbial agent at a trade show and decided to incorporate it into our products. It has been extensively tested by the manufacturer according to recognized standards and is extremely effective against 85 different types of microorganisms such as bacterial, mold, algae and viruses. We have also had it independently tested in our product by an outside lab.
One of the suggested uses is to prevent odor causing microorganisms to grow on articles and surfaces. Early this year, we decided to try and find some other industries to use our product. I immediately thought of motorcycle gear since I had been testing the anti-microbial on my own boots, crash helmet, gloves and even slippers for nearly a year.
So was born BioNixx the first product to be sold under our name. We hope you will be interested in giving this product a try, and leaving your helmet, boots and riding gear smelling fresh and ready for miles and miles of continued riding!
Sincerely,
John Clarke
