Nikwax Glove Proof

SKU: 1368

Availability: In stock

Product Description

Recommended for both leather and textile gloves. Goes on wet and penetrates and requires rubbing into leather or fabric. A very thin, very runny opaque emulsification that soaks in and dries to a nearly unnoticeable dry-feeling finish. Two sequential treatments (apply, dry, re-apply, dry, wear) recommended. Fairly long lasting. Water beads nicely for some time thru moderate rain exposures.

Another Nikwax Solution Review by Bob
Having used other Nikwax products with good results I was very pleased with the results of the Glove Proof. After letting the gloves dry for a couple days I sprayed them with the kitchen sink sprayer. The water rolled right off and could not find any seam areas where water was soaking in. One application was enough. After three sets of gloves the little blue scrubby applicator was gone but I it still works properly. Better distribution of the product that way but like the idea of a toothbrush for the seams as well. It’s found a permanent home in my list of bike gear potions and elixirs. (Posted on 10/26/18)
Glove Proof - Easy to UseReview by Mike
Nikwax a dependable name and the Glove Proof was easy to use on my Elkskin Ropers. Instead of using the applicator top, I poured the solution into a small bowl and applied it directly with a toothbrush to the seams; the body of the glove absorbed the remainder very nicely. After drying overnight there is some very light wax-like flaking, but it is inconsequential. The gloves are ready for the road in 2018! (Posted on 3/12/18)
Great stuff!Review by Keith
Waterproofed my brand-new pair of elk skin ropers, got rained on the next day, gloves stayed perfectly dry.

It's a bit hard to make sure to get total coverage as its very thin and it's hard to see where you've already been. The rain showed me two small spots I missed as those were the only two spots on the gloves that got wet.

I agree with Ron A. that it's hard to get out of the bottle. (Posted on 8/7/12)
Check for allergiesReview by Luther t.
This stuff works great, but check to see if you are allergic first. I used it on some high end leather gloves, and had to give the gloves away as my hands broke into a horrible rash every time I wore them. Nikwax doesn't include an ingredient list, so test it on your skin first. (Posted on 12/28/11)
This stuff really worked....Review by Ron A
This stuff really worked. And on gloves with leather palms! After the first rain, I needed to reapply it, though. Now I've been through two rains and still no soaking through. My only complaint is that the liquid is so hard to get out of the bottle. It's supposed to squeeze out onto an applicator pad but it takes a lot of pressure. (Posted on 4/24/09)
