  1. A fix for the fix
Initially I had the same result as everyone else using these. The scissor mechanism didn't stay shut and it fell off. Fortunately, i found the Zipper Mend and it occurred to me to hold it shut with shrink wrap tubing. That was several years ago and it's still holding. I tried the other version with wire loops and they broke very quickly.

  2. Just... NO.
Bought 3 of these when the original zippers on my R3 broke off. The first one fell off the long zipper after 50 miles. The second one I put on there broke off as I left for a ride. It's a great concept, but the material is very brittle and won't stand up to the abuse some of us put our suits through.

Now, I've got a 'stich with missing zipper pulls on both legs. I've replaced them both with key rings temporarily until I figure out a better way to fix them. The key rings suck since they tend to get caught on pegs.

  3. Not worth it
I ordered these with some trepidation, given the reviews.

I should have listened. These failed almost immediately after installation, even after using the pliers method recommended by the instructions.

For whatever reason, the ones I got are extremely sensitive to any sort of lateral twisting (the kind that zipper pulls are constantly subjected to) so they invariably pop open.

Another warning - These are too large to use for leg zippers on an Aerostich, but they will fix broken cuff zippers (which is what I used them for,

  4. 2.1mm thick look may not fit smaller zippers
I have sleeve pulls that broke, and first tried SKU: 365 Zipper Fixer, which is 1.67mm diameter metal, and which pulled out of the plastic pull. These SKU 378 Zipper Mend are for medium and larger zippers, and not for smaller zippers. I am using 2" paper clip because I do not want to enlarge the hole to 2.1 mm (I think it will break the zipper slider itself).

  5. Zipper pull performance
Was up to the factory last summer and ordered a pair of AD1 riding pants. While there I shopped for several items one being replacement zipper pulls for my aged well used Tourmaster riding jacket. These are a must as they are locking by design and with the pulls gone they don't open or close. They work well and it was nice to be able to access the hand warmer pockets once again. That is until recently on a trip to Florida both pulls disappeared on the road, somewhere between Michigan and Georgia. Was so happy to have had access to the pockets, maybe 5,000 miles, just expected a bit more service life. Won't buy these again may try the others.

  6. Have Pliers
Have tried a couple of brands of zipper fixer. These do work, but you must (repeat MUST) lock them on with pliers or they will fall off. You'll think you got them closed without pliers, but they really aren't. The other brands I've tried aren't made nearly as well and just don't last. I've used these on suitcases, boots, just about everything. They are fairly large, you wouldn't want them on pants or anything where you wouldn't want the zipper pull to show.

  7. Don't bother
I tried these on the liners of my Motoport pants. The thing popped off 3 times before I get one leg zipped.
I bought 4 of them thinking they were the answer to my busted zipper pull problem. Now they're just a clutter problem in my closet.

  8. Zipper mend
Great! The original pulls broke, I was thinking about having in the zippers replaced or new jacket. 1 minute after opening the package I was back in action. Use a pliers and you are ready to go.
    Thank you.

  9. Zipper Mend
These work so well, I'm thinking of replacing the *stock* zippers on a few items. Seriously, whoever engineered these little suckers is a brilliant genius. Well done!

  10. Zipper Mend...NOT
I bought 2 Zipper Mend to replace the pull on my Darien jacket sleeve. The first Zipper Mend fell off within 1 mile on first ride. Second Zipper Mend was installed and wrapped in tape. This Zipper Mend lasted 3 days before it also disappeared. A good idea not fulfilled.
