  1. I understand
I never understood what all the hype was about for these gloves until now. I did why the size chart said I got an 8.5 and love them I haven’t got to soak them yet but I will when warmer weather hits. I’ve been wearing more agressive sport bike or race style gloves so I was skeptical about these. Well I was wrong I love them I just now need the wool lined ones for the cooler riding times. Super soft and sensitive. Remember to leave your fingers spread open on the size chart

  2. Much more
glove than the standard ropers, which I wore for ten years before they wore out. These are ropers squared, which is exactly what I wanted when buying my second pair. The gauntlet is plenty long, and the two straps make for a superb fit. Very well engineered and constructed. Worth the money, unlike MANY of the expensive gloves that I have previously owned. There's an insulated pair in my future.....

  3. Bar None The BEST glove you can buy!
Bar none the Elkskin Gauntlet glove is the best all around glove you can buy. Have worn them for years in spring, summer and fall. In winter I switch to the wool line Elkskin Gauntlet. Just simply the best all around glove here is!

  4. Great gloves
I really like these gloves. This is my second pair.

I came from HELD Steve Gloves and really wanted another pair, but the HELD have had some quality control issues over the last few years and I didn't want to take a chance with them.

A friend recommended the ropers but I like a gauntleted glove so chose the Elkskin Gauntlets. I couldn't be happier. At half the cost of the Held gloves, my first pair have worked for me for as long as I had the Held gloves at half the cost. They are comfortable, don't pinch and the sizing chart worked well for me. The elk skin breaks in fast.

I haven't had to test their crash worthiness, but they seem built well enough to let me keep my skin.

After 4 years and 70,000 miles they are showing some wear, but are still serviceable. I bought the second pair to carry along for that day when the seams split on the first. I may have some time to wait.

  5. Excellent quality
This is my first pair of elkskin gloves, previously I have used deerskin. I really like the elkskin better. They are very comfortable and well made. I have always had trouble finding gloves that fit as I have large hands. Well, I know where I'll be buying my gloves from now on...Aerostich.

  6. My go to gloves
The Elk Skin Gauntlet Gloves are my "Go to gloves." This is my second pair. They are wearable under a wide range of temperatures. The fit is great and the gauntlet keeps the wind out of the sleeves of my riding jacket. It is the pair of gloves I keep on my bike at all times.

  7. Best feeling gloves I own
I ordered a set of these in black when I ordered my new R-3 suit. They are the most comfortable gloves I have owned so far. I live in the Bay Area, so take my seasons with a grain if salt if you live somewhere with real weather - these are fantastic fall/spring gloves, and with grip heaters and hand deflectors they might be great winter gloves for similarly mild climates. The wind just doesn't seem to get into these gloves. I ordered some nikwax glove proofing stuff as well, and I plan to condition the gloves with it after they're well and truly broken in, but hopefully before a rain. I'll update this review when I've had the opportunity to see how these gloves perform in the cold and the wet.

I measured my glove size at a 8.5 and ordered accordingly. What I didn't do was measure my dominate hand. As a result the right is a bit of a squeeze, but once I squeeze my paw in there it's very nice. It's getting easier and easier to put on as I break it in, so I'm sure in no time the glove and I will come to an understanding.

I have a hard time with gloves typically, because I have short-but-thick hands/fingers. Thanks to the half sizes, these are an OK fit out of the box and it's just getting better every time I wear them. I did run them under the faucet and wear them the day after they arrived and that helped kick off the break-in period a bit. The black dye didn't bleed, but maybe I didn't get them wet enough.

  8. Great Gloves
This pair is my 3rd pair of these gloves. I love them, very comfortable, well made and well designed. I get between 45,000 to 55,000 miles from a pair and have been well pleased with the gloves.

  9. Elkskin Gauntlet Gloves
The perfect glove. $16 more expensive than the competition model, and worth it. As you break them in, you'll be able to cinch the gauntlet strap and the wrist strap fully and these gloves will be very secure, and the gauntlet will provide a fully tight and effective seal. This seal for me, makes the glove perfect in the temperate cimate where I live. I compliment with aerostitch silk liner gloves as temps require to handle 99% of my riding, down to below freezing for rides up to 40 minutes or so, unfaired, up to 65 mph. I measured my size according to the sizing guide and measured and bought a 9. New, they should fit quite snug, in my opinion, and the will end up spot on. Give them some hundreds of miles, and any spots you feel will disappear and the gloves will mold to your hands. They even smell good. As a caveat, they require a bit more time to put on than the competition model, but you get faster in time, and the trade off is worth it for me. I now use the gaunt-less competitions when it is very hot for some cooling air up my sleeves. Both versions are the best riding gloves I've used in 35 years of riding and give peerless feel and control. Highly Recommended!

  10. Great Gloves
These gloves are all you need, with padding in the right places, and a fit that gets better with every use. I can not say anything negative about these gloves.
