  1. great size, mounting and truly waterproof
As others have mentioned, the simple but useful mounting hardware are great. Bag is relatively easy for on/off but is absolutely secure once mounted. Small enough to swing a leg over. Size is perfect for a weekend getaway. LOVE the white lined interior to see where stuff is. Truly waterproof: Got caught in a 5 hour downpour coming back from Asheville in October and all items were totally dry when I got home.

  2. What I should have been looking for in the firs...
The design and construction of this bag have already been raved about elsewhere, so I'll avoid that topic, even though it bears mention that is IS designed fantastically.

Foremost, the mounting system is fantastic. I love the metal clips and the frame loops. The bag is super secure, while still being easy to remove and install. Adjusting the straps every time can get a little tedious, but is HARDLY a real problem.

As far as space, it's nicely large, and having flexible sides, it suits anything I could put in a stuff sack just fine.

Another important feature to me is for it to be unobtrusive when not in use, which it certainly is. I ride a classic styled bike (Triumph Scrambler) and I can't help but think the look of luggage on it is more than a little awkward, to say the least. Despite looking very new compared to the rest of the bike, it's design is classy enough and very utilitarian, which suits me quite nicely. More aesthetically sensitive folks might disagree, but I'm very happy with the look.

The flexibility of the mounting surprised me. For something I considered a very simple piece of luggage (any given tail pack, not just this one,) I have found it AMAZINGLY difficult to find one that mounts in a way I consider sensible and unobtrusive. This one is perfect. It seemed over-complex at first, but after installing it, I appreciate the four little number of nylon loops being all that shows when uninstalled.

I didn't realize this was what I was looking for when hunting down luggage, but I'm sure glad I got it! It seems to fit the bill quite nicely.

  3. Great bag
This is a great bag which easily attaches and detaches from the passenger pillion of my Ninja 1000. The shoulder strap is a useful addition and makes it easy to handle the bag off the bike. My only complaint is that it would be nice to have an easily accessible pocket on the outside to store small items (sun glasses, change, etc). We drove through a lot of rain on our most recent trip and all my stuff stayed nice and dry.

  4. Kriega!
I purchased a US-20 because I was looking for a waterproof tail bag to carry a General Dynamics laptop, which is a little heavy for a backpack. I already own a Kriega R25 backpack and have always been impressed by it.
The US-20 is a well thought out, quality bag and is plenty big enough for the laptop. It looks cool and fits great on my FZ1. When I'm not using it as a tail bag, I put my iPad in the US20 and shove the whole thing in the R25.
It can be a pain to adjust the straps and hide the excess though. It would be a lot better if they had included the US Alloy hook straps (which I'll probably end up buying), but Kriega wants $35 for those.
Overall, I believe the US20 is the best choice available.

  5. kriega tail bag
Excellent option for a tail bag. I commute about 30 miles per day, sometimes in the rain. The US20 compresses so it doesn't raise the profile of the bike or the center of gravity like a top case but it will still hold 20 liters worth of gear which more than suits my needs for commuting or weekend shopping. Easy to attach and remove. I'll probably use Kriega bags when I start outfitting my bike (KLR650) for touring as opposed to the much more expensive aluminum paniers.

  6. Some reservations
I tried to find a reason to like this bag - it's really well made, and unlike most bags, it's waterproof. But the drawbacks were too much, and I ended up returning it. The strap and buckle attachment system, while secure, is a bit too "busy" for my taste. But my biggest complaint is that you pretty much have to remove the bag and unclip three more straps to get inside. Then there's just one big pouch. There are two extra pockets, but one is underneath and not easily accessible. I like having places for small stuff like glasses, TP gauge, etc., and this bag didn't have enough to suit me.

  7. The best tail bag money can buy
The Kriega US-20 is an amazing tail bag. You can pack quite a bit into it and it looks good on the back of my bike. For anyone looking for a sharp bag that doesn't detract from the bikes looks (I ride a GSX-R) then this is the bag for you. I put my work boots, camera, spare gloves, clear shield, spare tire kit and compressor, and lunch in the bag for my daily commute and there is still room for more stuff. It mounts very easily to the bike and has superior construction. I got caught in the rain and the bag kept all my contents nice and dry. I can't think of one negative thing to say about it.
