Absolutely sweet item to have on long, boring s...Plus, it's fun when you notice the people gawking at you, trying to figure out what kind of witchery you're employing.

It worksAs I said, it works. It took me a few miles to get the hang of it so that I could fine tune it to the exact speed I wanted but it will work from the get go. I'm going to have to buy another one since I broke mine trying to get it off one bike and put it on another. I think I'll just order two this time.

Fits my FJRFinally. It fits my FJR with heated grips, and works much better than a Throttle Rocker. I can push it down with my left hand, and it stays there. I did have to spend some time adjusting the band far enough up the grip, but it was a lot less trouble than trying to install a Vista Cruise.

Clever, with limitationsThis is an extraordinarily clever device, but it does have some limitations. I ride dual sport bikes and they are equipped with brush guards that enclose the end of the handlebars, making the grip a finite length. If you have big hands, you will definitely notice the 1/4" thickness of the throttle lock. Also, dirt grips are shorter than street grips, and have a curve at the flange (next to the thumb), so the throttle lock doesn't fit very closely to the flange. With that in mind, it actually takes up more like 3/8" on the grip. So, around town, I keep the gadget in my pocket until I hit the highway, at which point I install it on the grip.

Mixed resultsI bought this cruise control for two reasons: I appreciated the elegant design, and my NEP cruise control was not working as well on my SV1000 as it had on other bikes. Overall, I was pleased with the device and grew very accustomed to it's presence on my grip. However, some issues arose and I thought I'd better share them here:
1: This device works best on a stiff rubber compound. I have softer compound grips on my bike and as a result there was a little bit of "give" when I engaged this throttle control. The result was I had to compensate a little when applying it. No biggie, but a little frustrating sometimes when you're on a flat road and you start slowing down after you engage it.
2. They are serious when they tell you in the instructions to be very careful pulling this apart to install or remove on your bike. I was attempting to remove mine while having a conversation with someone and ended up breaking it in two. I fully take the blame, but be warned that this device is fragile when stretched.
Like I said, overall I liked the thing and was bummed when I broke it. I appreciated it's simple design, but I'm going to spend a little extra and get a Vista Cruise next time.Posted on

great for tired handGot this for my 2004 Road Star for the long trips. Works great on flat long straight road. However have you have it set and you go up or down hills watch your speed. The speed will also go up or down. Gives your hand a great break. Is with the money and glad I got it.
