  1. Had a few flats now....
I have had this pump for a few years now, and love it, I admit the switch could be better but over all I love the size it packs down to, the extra long power cable and hose. all and all worth the $ and with a dual sport bike am considering getting a second one so I don't have to keep steeling the one for the street bike. Thanks!

  2. Life Saver
I ordered this pump and a patch kit in '08 in preparation for my trip to Sturgis. On the way home from Sturgis in 2010, I got a flat on my custom chopper. I forgot I packed it and after safely getting to a rest stop west of Salinas,KS I relaxed when I remembered I had it.

I dug it out along with the plug kit, found the BIG hole in my rear tire and went to work. It took two plugs to get the tire to hold air. It was hot out and I have a big 300mm rear tire, I was worried this pump may have problems. It filled the big tire no problem, although it wasn't fast.

Bottom line, no one stopped to help and in a situation of being alone, poor cell phone coverage and needing to get rolling again, this was a serious life saver. I highly recommend this pump as it had to fill a large volume of a 300mm tire to 40psi, in the August heat of Kansas with no problems.

  3. Details - good & bad
I compared 4 pumps side by side in my garage. Every choice is a compromise but I decided to keep this unit for my purposes (dirt bike riding using Tubliss system in my tires). Here are pros & cons of this unit:
    - Beefy construction, heavy-gauge wires, will last, won't fail in desparate situations.
    - Pumps easily past 125 psi (necessary for Tubliss system) and QUICKLY fills to normal tire pressures (2 minutes to 12 psi in rear). Much faster and more powerful than lighter pumps.
    - at 19.5 oz, it is a bit heavier than lightest unit (14 oz), which makes difference in backpack)
    - Unit is buly & awkward to pack. This is primarily due to the rubber fill hose being MUCH too long. There is no nice way to wrap or fold this long, heavy, awkward hose, which makes unit pack TWICE as bulky as necessary and adds significant weight.
    - Quick-release valve fitting on hose is much nicer than screw-types.
BOTTOM LINE: If you want beefy construction, high pressure, and speed, get this unit. If you want lighter weight, a gauge, & more convenient packing, get the Stop & Go unit also sold here (but don't go past 50 psi!)

  4. Good Unit, Overall
A good unit, though a bit pricey. Probably worth it, though, for in this case less is more. There are no bulky case and no bells and whistles, just the motor, pump, and necessary cables and tubing.

Pluses: Compact size, adequate power, tightly-fitting chuck, carabiner for hanging, extra-long air and power hoses, battery connectors included for those without powerlets

Minuses: Unshielded motor gets hot (wait till putting it away near anything plastic), still took more than a minute to add two pounds of air to the front tire on my VTX1800, tight chuck requires a strong pull to remove, carrying bag not waterproof

Overall verdict: The good stuff you expect from Aerostitch, but at a price. Todd, chill on the switch. If it ever fails, take it apart and twist the wires together.

  5. Excellent bit of kit
Just pumped up my tyres at home and this little compressor took no time at all but also makes my repair kit a bit lighter as i can get rid of all the extra bottles of co2 cylinders. And on a group ride i can help out more fellow riders who dont have room to carry a kit.

  6. Best mini I've found yet
With 80k+ touring miles I've tried a handful of small air pumps & this is the best I've had. Super compact & enough power to handle motorcycle tires. I've been using this pump now for a couple years & approx 15k miles of riding. I always have it on the bike. Extremely handy little device. Thanx AStich!!

  7. Did all that was needed - 3 times in a row
Touring in Arizona and Utah and got a flat in the FJR rear just before entering Zion National Park (from the east). Plugged, inflated and rode on. Threw the sticky string repair twice - it was right in the cente on the rolling circumference. Third repair with alternative plug held. The compressor inflated the flat rear tyre 3 times in an hour without any issues. Highly recommended (also recommend waiting for repair to set before riding, but we needed to get to a dealer to have the tyre replaced).

  8. Quick filling
Had to rush out one night to rescue my buddy on the highway with a flat. Plugged it and filled it and sent him on his way. Having used other 12v Compressors was very surprised with how fast it filled the rear tire on an FJR.
