  1. Great pants
Just finished North to Alaska tour with Motoquest May 2023. The AD-1 pants are comfortable and capable in temperatures between 41-92 degrees. Great pockets for storage and convenience. Like wearing a good pair of jeans but better protection from weather and riding. Very happy with these pants.

  2. Love these pants!
I matched a pair of AD-1's with a Darien jacket. After trying on the Darien pants and the AD-1's, I preferred the overall fit of the AD-1's. I also preferred the slightly larger fit through the leg and the wider knees. I'm 6' / 200lbs and wear a 34 pant...36 in the AD-1 is JUST big enough. The fit feels long until you sit down on your bike and then it all makes sense. With a bit of tweaking of kneepad position, I've found that I can have the hem of the pants right down where I want it, every time I sit down on the bike. The kneepads kinda locate the legs for you.

I've ridden in some hours-long downpours and they kept me dry. Save for one little spot that suddenly found it's way in. But that turned out to be a pocket zipper not carefully closed 100%. When you yank the zipper closed the pocket is definitely closed but the zipper itself is a little short of the end. A bit of care to work the zipper right to the end fixed that leak problem.

The zippers on the side make it possible for me to get in and out of these without having to take riding boots off....a big plus in my books.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend these pants to anyone.

  3. Just buy them already!
Recently ordered and received a pair of AD-1 pants. They are by far the BEST riding pants I have ever owned. The fit is fantastic and they are extremely comfortable. I am very impressed with the armor and find the thin foam in "other" riding pants laughable. The AD-1 pants are well made and each feature, zippers/velcro/snap/pocket/etc etc is in the exact right spot to be useful and work correctly. You will LOVE these pants. PLUS excellent customer service (on the phone no less) both before and after the sale (had a question after receiving the pants so I called again). I wish more companies made quality items and had customer service like Aerostich!!!

  4. AD1s - another Aero classic
It can't say much for my reach-in wardrobe when I affirm my AD1s are the best fitting trousers I own. I've not tried them in an all-day downpour but to be honest, if you positively, absolutely have to stay dry, that job is best left to a 1980s-era, impermeable Rukka soft PVC onesie.
    Like:
    • Usual excellent Aero taped-seam quality
    • Dead easy to put on / take off with boots on
    • The right amount of useful pockets
    • Great contoured cut; don’t feel bulky
    • Breath well and waterproof so far
    • Long, but OK because ankles can be cinched in to help take the weight
    • No complicated washing requirements

    Like less
    • $$$$ from the UK
    • TF3 armour pads too bulky (others available)
    • Bulky to stash, but isn’t everything

Fyi: my AD1s were exchanged for an Aero advertisement in my AMHandbook

  5. Met Expetations
I've known several people who wore Aerostitch products. I finally got a pair of AD1 pants for myself. Sure enough, everyone was right. These are the best pants I've ever owned. They fit great. They met all my expectations. Now I'm thinking about a jacket to go with them.

  6. Great Pants. Waterproof? No
I bought these about three weeks ago to replace an aging pair of Darien pants. The reviewers who say they're waterproof must be living in an alternate universe or experiencing different kind of rain.

I've just returned from a week in Virginia and a week in Spain and had rain in both places. In moderate to heavy rain, the crotch gets wet in about 30 minutes. This happened four or five times. I don't see how it's avoidable, because you're sitting in a pool or water on the seat.

How wet? Not miserable sodden soaked, but noticeably heavily damp. I was hoping not to carry a regular rain suit, but for all day serious rain, I still will. That may avoid the damp crotch. For summertime rain--warm--who cares? You get wet, you dry out. But for cold rain, you gotta stay as dry as possible.

Otherwise, the AD1 is great. The fit is just right and it's comfortable. The Velcro flaps on the pockets are a nice touch, as is the thigh pocket, which keeps a wallet handy and keeps it mostly dry in the rain. I junked the chintzy money belt and used the belt off my Dariens.

Although I'm disappointed with the rain performance, I'm not unhappy overall. I'd buy them again. Just know the limitations.

  7. Great Product and Customer Service
Just got my AD1's. They are great but what's better was the customer service. I needed to have these custom sized and they were fantastic working with me through this process.

  8. AD1 Best pants
I'm 5'7" and 150lbs. I bought the 30 waist, normal size I wear, AD1 pant and they fit perfectly on and off the bike. I'm a beginning rider with a Honda CBR250. I tried many pairs of over-pants and these were by far the best fit with the waterproof and pocket options. I haven't been on the freeway in them yet but normal commutting they are warm and dry in the rainy Seattle climate. I can where any pants I like and long underwear under them and don't feel cramped.

  9. Excellent pants, inadequate belt
These pants are outstanding in every way...except for the included Aerostich Money Belt. The cheap plastic buckle failed the first time I tried it on, without even using much force. Thankfully I had also ordered the "Last Chance HD Totally Serious Belt" at the same time, which is quite robust.

  10. Very satisfied
I recently began riding again, so I have purchased several articles of clothing, many from Aerostich. The AD1 pants exceeded my expecations in fit, quality and functionality, and the more I wear them the more comfortable they become. I highly recommend them.
