Comfortable, gloves. These are one of 4 pair of gloves that I use depending on weather. I don’t like wearing these in rain, I bought black for myself and my son and they do bleed color in the rain. I have 2 pair of Klim gloves, one vented and one gortex for rain. The most comfortable gloves I have are the Klim induction gloves but these are a very close second. If it’s a cooler day I probably prefer these although they don’t have knuckle protection or palm sliders like my Klim gloves.

Best Everyday GlovesBest riding gloves. My last pair lasted me 5 years until one day my dog chewed thru it. SOft, would recommend getting them little snug as they for and shape according to your grip... I wear them thru rain or shine. wash them, use them, abuse them.. they seem to stay intact.

Elkskin RopersThe Aerostich Elkskin Ropers are the best riding gloves I've ever owned. This is actually my 3rd pair of Ropers. I've been wearing my first pair in Tan color on every ride for over 4 years and they still feel as comfortable as they did when they were new. I bought them a half size bigger so that I could use them with the Aerostich Silk Glove liners for cold weather which works great. I finally decided to buy an exact size Roper with the long cuff for cooler Spring and Fall riding without using the silk liner. They work so good, I decided to buy a 3rd pair of Ropers in Black for Summer riding. I can't say enough about these gloves. The leather is quite heavy, but also very soft and comfortable for all day riding. These gloves offer great 3-season protection up here in the Northeast, and never feel stiff or uncomfortable, even on hot days which is surprising given the heavy leather. I highly recommend them.

Elk skin ropersMy third pair of Aerostich gloves. Fit just right straight out of the box. However, this time I tried the "wet glove" break-in procedure. FANTASTIC - they are now a second skin. They dried to the curvature of my hands. Extremely comfortable - soft as silk. I love them.

Ropers are great in every wayElkskin ropers are simply terrific. The first thing a rider must do is visit their local branded motorcycle shop and check glove qualities and prices. I’ll say no more than, “these are the best”. Second, natural skin gloves have many unique advantages over man made fabrics. If a buyer is looking for product features found in gloves made of plastic, vinyl, GoreTex, Thinsulate and high tech; these would not be your first choice because they don’t have that list of stuff. They are lovely pieces of skin to wrap around your skin and they do that in the most remarkably positive way. And they will keep doing that for a very long time if you take care of them.

Replacing my 100k mile RopersI bought these to replace my well-worn elk skin ropers that I purchased in 2004 during a stopover on the Lake Basin Promotions Circle Lake Tour, aka the Wolf's Head Rally. The gloves outlived the rally, which sadly is no longer held officially. The gloves are comfortable and became my constant riding companions. Paired with heated grips I could ride in virtually any weather I would want to be out in. The leather is very pliable, but also durable. I used the gloves for wood chopping on occasion, and that was recently what finally put a small hole in the tip of one of the fingers. I will say that, even after 100k miles and many years of use, I would still get "purple hands" if the gloves got wet - the last ride I took it stormed on me for the last 30 miles (go figure) and once again I had the trade-mark purple hands from the black bleeding out. I would have ordered the tan gloves, but they were out of stock, and I really wanted exact replacements , bleeding notwithstanding. I did try to soak them in the sink a couple of times to no avail. In the end, it's about the glove, and these are outstanding gloves, no nonsense, hard working, long wearing good gloves that will be with you for many years.

Worth ItI've wanted a pair of these for years, but couldn't justify the cost over half the price for elk or deer work gloves at the hardware store, both of which will last a couple years riding or a season of desert landscaping. Well I finally pulled the trigger, and feel I've got every penny's worth. I am between an XS and a SM so finding gloves has always been challenging, but your size 8 is perfect - the only other gloves I have that fit this well are my size 8 sword-fencing gloves. I was concerned that they might wear a little hot in summer, but can attest that this elkskin is comfortable up to at least 110degF.
If you would please make a shorty version (about an inch less cuff), I would buy them too for driving the car when the steering wheel is too hot.Posted on
