My favorite gloves!I have 2 pairs of these natural and black. They are the most comfortable gloves I have ever worn. They do require a short break in but they are like a second skin after that.

Great Gloves have gotten betterIve owned a pair of black elkskin ropers for 6+ years, several interactions with the pavement and a wreck that totaled my bike, and they were still going strong.
The Stitching on 1 finger just started to go so i ordered a new pair in natural and another in black. The comparison between old and new is amazing, so much life has gone into my old pair I'm sad to put them down, but 3 weeks in and I think the new pair is even better. These Gloves are well thought out squeegee and all
Pros: supple leather, durability, nice fit, rugged, breathable, comfortable, short gauntlet, amazing gloved dexterity, wet weather no problem, sink wash as desired and hang dry overnight, i can actually grab a zipper (without a pull tab) or manipulate a phone through my pocket
Cons: black color runs when it gets wet - as indicated online and in delivered packaging, they have a break in period - could be a week or a year depending on how your ride, sizing is a bit tricky (i got a 10.5 as thats how i measured, i might go a .5 smaller next time), not the warmest gloves in near 0 degree weather (cheap running gloves inside make a great addition if you get occasional cold days)
Overall: shut up and buy it already - best gloves I've ever owned for riding, and they will live on as work glovesPosted on

Great GlovesI've had quite a few pairs of gloves over my riding years and have to say that these are my favorite. I had to send the first pair back for a smaller size but now they fit, well, like a glove. Smooth, thick leather and very soft inside. Not as stretchy as deer skin and more water repellent. I got the black and soaked them for a day to remove some excess dye. No bleeding in the rain. Perfect primary riding glove.

Almost Perfect GlovesThey aren't really broken in yet, but here's what I can tell you: the construction is nicely done - good stitching details, and the elk hide seems well up to the task of protecting against abrasion. The sizing chart is spot on - I normally wear XXL in most brands, but not these. The largest size would no doubt fit Richard Kiel very well. I would have rather had the competition roper, with its velcro strap and knuckle padding, but cannot do the bright gold/yellow color. It would clash with everything I own, including my bright green Kawasaki! One gripe: the snaps do not ensure a snug enough wrist fit to preclude the gloves being pulled off your hands. Even snapped, I can take them off. They might not be likely to come off in a bout of "creative riding" gone wrong, but chaos is by nature unpredictable. I'll probably get a second male snap and custom place it on the cuff. Anyway, I do like the fit and construction. A bit pricey, but less so than my LP Deerskin gloves, and the stitching details on those was not as good.

well constructedi bought a pair of gloves for myself 3 months ago and liked them so much that i bought two more for friends. I have gone through a few sets of gloves mostly due to comfort but like these gloves the most Soft but durable. i did soak them in water then put them out in the sun to dry. the color did fade but no big deal. after 3 months they look almost new. The ones i bought as gifts are black. i'm sure they will be just as nice as mine. Great gloves

Great gloveI've had these gloves a little over a year and a half now. I know all natural skins have imperfections but the first pair i received looked like seconds so I sent them back and Aerostich replaced them with a nicer pair.
They are my go to glove for riding between 45 and 80 degrees - which is the majority of my riding. I washed them twice in mild soapy water when I got them. My hands still got black if I wore them for any length of time for the first few months. Even now, if I ride a 12+ hour day (common for me) my hands still get a slight black tinge to them. I really don't care too much about that though.
They are very comfortable and easy to get on and off. The only real issue I have with them is that I don't think the wrist would be well protected in a getoff so a slightly longer gauntlet would be nice.
When I purchased them I thought the thumb squeegee thing was a bit hokey. Much to my surprise, I' ve found that it's extremely useful when mist, snow, or freeway spray is collecting on my visor.
Bottom line: I have over a dozen sets of riding gloves and these get worn more than any of my others by far.
If I ever manage to wear them out then I'll probably try the competition version as they appear to have a slightly longer gauntlet, are more adjustable and have finger padding.Posted on

Good but...I have owned two pair of these super comfortable gloves tan and black. I prefer the black as they\ gloves last so long that the tan eventually gets to looking a bit shaby. I bought them to ride in but never could get over the lack of armor. But, I liked the gloves to much I drive my "cage" aka car in them and wear them all the time off the bike. Buy em! you'll love em!
