Up here in Canada where we spend 6 months of the year dressed for winter in Carhart bibs and a jacket, the inescapable venting of flatulence via the neck of your jacket, is known as "stove piping".

I do recall when, back in late '90s, at the behest of my then-Missus, I secretly bought a GL1500 for her benefit; having tried a rental, she no longer wished to be on the back of my Concours. Honestly, I can't blame her.
But it was several months before I let all of my riding friends in on the secret, that I'd bought a Wing at 48. Not old enough!
The following Wing, a GL18, was traded for an FJR as soon as this spouse got her third bike; the Wing was no longer needed.
On the other hand, I believe I was 36 when my first Roadcrafter was purchased. So, there's that.

Rode in a 'Stich from 93-99. Got back into riding in '19, and the third purchase after the bike and helmet was a used 'Stich. Anyone who places fashion and looking cool over safety, weather protection and convenience isn't a rider. They're poser douchebags.

Gee, now I finally understand. Bought a 2 piece Aerostich Roadcrafter AND a K100RS in 1988 while in my 30's. Must have been some sort of super secret government/BMW/Aerostich subliminal marketing experiment.....

The suit is still my "Go-To" and it appears that I finally meet the age criteria. K Bike is long gone, but the Roadcrafter has sat on Triumph's, Ducati's, BMW's, Suzuki's, and Yamaha's for the past 33 years.

Yeah, this "have to be old" to wear an Aerostich thing is funny. I was 33 when I bought my first one, and rode a VFR 750(I've never owned a BMW). I still wear the same suit 25 years later! I do have another one in a different color that I've had for about 21 years. I could afford them back then...not sure that I could now, just like Arai helmets, I love them, they fit me the best, but they're way expensive now. I love showing up at bike gatherings or get togethers in my old faded Roadcrafter. Function over fashion for me.

My terrible fart bag suit has been my go-to for very frequent riding for 15 years. At 41 years old, that means that I bought the suit at 26 years of age. I had to wait to that age to have the income to afford the suit. My Roadcrafter gets washed as frequent as other suits get replaced. In fact, I now have one Roadcrafter and two Darien suits. It is hands down the best value in motorcycle protection. And yes, the one-piece may vent the fart out the neck opening. Small price to pay for an excellent product.

Man, I wish I knew I was supposed to wait until 60 to buy my Roadcrafter–would have saved my 23 year-old self a relatively sizeable chunk of change. Now almost 20 years later, I just have to make sure I can still fit in the thing...

Finally got one for my 35th birthday. Took a while to get it sized right but I love it. They’re definitely so uncool they’re cool in my book. And they just work.

Bought my first fart bag suit at age 27 while astride a Beemer. Now I’m much older astride a Ducati, still clad in red fart bag suit. Proudly.

You mean, BMW’s don’t automatically come with a ‘Stich?!

I’d say I feel cheated, but I don’t ride a BMW, and I still can’t afford a ‘Stich.

  Think of it as an investment. I paid a big chunk of change for my Roadcrafter in 1997, but for the next twenty years I didn't spend one thin dime on jackets, pants or rain gear. Pretty certain I came out ahead. Like an electric car, a Stich costs more up front but pays for itself (and then some) in the long term.

  Lol. I don’t ride a bmw either and I bought a crashed one. If you can sew….. it is pretty awesome aerostitch will sell you the materials to fix these. To my knowledge nobody else does that. That alone will keep me coming here for stuff.

I mean. That is how most people see aerostitch stuff tho. I got mine at age 41. I bought one someone crashed in off eBay for way cheap. Aerostitch sold me the material I needed and I sewed / repaired it myself. I do wish I didn’t look like every single bmw rider on the road but I mean. It’s a nice suit.

I'm 65; I have been using a Roadcrafter [now my 3rd] most every ride, most every day, since 1986. Compared to my 'stich, everything else is just posing.

Damn, I had no idea I should have waited until I was 60 to buy my first Aerostich, in my case a Darien jacket and pants at <40 years of age. Oh well, guess I was ahead of the curve.
