Gloves

Your favorite gloves. You just can’t ride anywhere without them. When they finally wear out, it feels like you’ve lost a friend. Made of natural tan medium to heavy weight elkskin, they are thicker, stronger and more abrasion resistant than deerhide and they’ll last much longer.

Built for cowboy and ag work, they’re tough enough for barbed wire fencing, yet sensitive enough to accurately handle a lariat. The snap cuff will slightly gauntlet over most jackets or close to let wind in your sleeves on a hot day. The left thumb is equipped with a visor squeegee made of resilient squeegee material.

All California Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officers (and many other depts.) wear Elkskin gloves 8-10 hours a day, week in and week out. You too will experience how right they are the minute you put them on and grab the clutch lever. These are the best gloves for serious combat touring adventures you’ll ever wear. Full and half sizes 7-13 (sizes 11.5 and 12.5 not available) Black may bleed slightly when wet.

Aerostich Elkskin Competition Ropers – Gloves Review – The Motorcycle Obsession

These are the same as our original Elkskin Roper gloves, but updated with an adjustable hook & loop wrist strap. The 3/4" strap is easy to adjust and allows you to more securely tighten the gloves around your wrist. Keep the strap loose and fasten the snap for a more roomy fit to allow more sleeve airflow on hotter days. A great glove made better through continual improvement. Full and half sizes 7-13 (size 11.5 and 12.5 not available). Made in America.

Very comfortable and easy to wear—just like Elkskin, but made of slightly thinner medium weight deerskin so they’re ideal for casual, everyday rides, especially commuting and touring. No break-in needed; they will be as comfortable as prewashed denim the moment you put them on. Because they’re so light, absorbent and soft, they provide great control feel. Nimble enough to pick a coin off a table, yet strong enough for riding protection. The insulated versions have 3M Thinsulate and a brushed nylon lining, so they are perfect for spring and fall wear. Full and half sizes for a better and more precise fit. For insulated gloves, order 1/2 size larger than non-insulated version to ensure proper fit. Both styles feature thumb visor squeegee.

The classic all around American general work and riding glove. Reinforcing welt in the thumb and the middle fingers, elastic back. Full and half sizes, Regular (#422) size 7-11, Insulated (#423) size 8-12.

Cleans and revitalizes leather without over softening. Will not strip off the manufacturer’s water repellency. Prolongs the life of gear and optimizes outdoor performance. Biodegradable, non-flammable, non-hazardous. 10 oz.

Recommended for both leather and textile gloves. Goes on wet and penetrates and requires rubbing into leather or fabric. A very thin, very runny opaque emulsification that soaks in and dries to a nearly unnoticeable dry-feeling finish. Two sequential treatments (apply, dry, re-apply, dry, wear) recommended. Fairly long lasting. Water beads nicely for some time thru moderate rain exposures.

Rejuvenates the water repellency of tired, worn leather clothing and accessories and replaces water repellent finishes and conditions leather. Prolongs the life of leather gear. 10 oz.

Highly recommended for leather gloves. Opaque liquid emulsion which goes on wet and soaks into pores in leather, helped greatly by rubbing into leather. Not recommended for fabric. Dries leaving a slightly tacky, waxy surface feel which may mostly be buffed away. Tacky-feel also wears away during use. Two applications (apply, dry, re-apply, dry, wear) are recommended to the back-side of glove, with either one fairly light application on palm to limit tacky-waxy effect on grip, or no palm application. Noticeably longer-lasting water-beading than Nikwax Glove Proof. 100ml.

A thick waxy paste that contains some silicones and is popular for boots but though not recommended specifically, may also be carefully applied to the back-sides of gloves. Needs to be worked into the leather by rubbing. Does not completely dry but surface may be buffed out. Leaves a slightly greasy surface feel. Water beads for a long time.

These Competition Elkskin Ropers take the Standard Elkskin Ropers to the next level with an added hook and loop wrist closure, reversed for ergonomic advantage, and also add a generous Elkskin covered TF3 impact-foam knuckle pad.

This is a premium rider’s glove, made by a ranch and work glove company in Washington State. They’re strong and durable enough to take on everyday rough cowboy and ag work -- from handling barb wire fences to accurately directing a lariat, and ultra-comfortable all-day because of their superb medium weight luxuriously tanned natural tan Elkskin. This comfortable abrasion resistant leather absorbs and dissipates sweat, wears cool, and quickly conforms itself to the shape of your hand.

The visco-elastic TF3 impact material padded knuckles make a protective difference in some crash scenarios, and of course, the left thumb is equipped with a resilient visor squeegee to help keep a clear view of the road in damp and rainy conditions.
