Your favorite gloves. You just can’t ride anywhere without them. When they finally wear out, it feels like you’ve lost a friend. Made of natural tan medium to heavy weight elkskin, they are thicker, stronger and more abrasion resistant than deerhide and they’ll last much longer.
Built for cowboy and ag work, they’re tough enough for barbed wire fencing, yet sensitive enough to accurately handle a lariat. The snap cuff will slightly gauntlet over most jackets or close to let wind in your sleeves on a hot day. The left thumb is equipped with a visor squeegee made of resilient squeegee material.
All California Highway Patrol Motorcycle Officers (and many other depts.) wear Elkskin gloves 8-10 hours a day, week in and week out. You too will experience how right they are the minute you put them on and grab the clutch lever. These are the best gloves for serious combat touring adventures you’ll ever wear. Full and half sizes 7-13 (sizes 11.5 and 12.5 not available) Black may bleed slightly when wet.

It is possible to enjoy warm, dry hands while being plastered and hammered and hosed. Made from 3.5 oz/sq yd 40d three-layer breathable-waterproof ripstop nylon. The thin ripstop nylon laminated fabric breathes enough during rain conditions so your skin won’t become clammy. A classic silk scarf should be soft, thin and slippery — so you can wrap one around your neck, close up your jacket and rotate your head and neck all day in draft-free comfort, without chafing. These luxurious 100% natural silk scarves are handmade of a soft, dense weave that’s perfect for riding. No synthetic fiber is warmer, softer, stronger, or more durable.
Silk provides maximum comfort across every temperature range: warm and draft-blocking when cool, and refreshing when worn wetted during hotter conditions. When you’re traveling this durable silk washes perfectly in any sink, too — even with a simple bar of hand soap.
The Standard Scarf model is medium weight silk of sensuous softness, and measures 14"×72". The Competition Scarf model is similar to the standard model but two layers thick, and it is a bit narrower and shorter. It measures 10"×60". Both are premium quality, long lasting pure silk that will keep the wind, rain, dust and snow from blowing down your neck, and will pack away ultra-small inside any pocket.
No other neckwear works this well, or looks this cool.

On colder rides enjoy quick warmth spreading evenly across your chest. It's a difference you'll feel even on shorter rides. Stuffing old newspapers underneath your jacket might cost a bit less, but that is uncomfortable and doesn't add heat. This patented bib is electric-warm, windproof and packs really small. The smooth outer fabric layer is black TLTex® WINDSTOPPER® and the side toward your body is a comfy black micro-fleece. The radiant electric heating layer is between.
The bib stays in place under your jacket perfectly because the inner fleecy layer is grabby and the outer WINDSTOPPER® layer is slippery. The comfortable low-profile fleece lined collar closes fast with hook and loop located at the upper chest and keeps drafts away.

Adventure Motorcyclist: Frazier Shrugged is a 21st century reflection of more than 120 years of adventure motorcycling and overlanding, a compendium of nearly 350 pages separating the wheat from the chaff in the world of adventure-seekers using motorcycles as the tool.
Motorcycle adventure and what an adventure is – defined! “If one has no regrets, but also would not want to do it a second time, one probably experienced an adventure.” (Mr. Subjective from the Aerostich Company)
Frazier, America’s best extreme motorcycle adventurer, possibly the world’s best, who coined the term “Motorcycle Adventurism,” laughed and shrugged in this definitive book when asked what is a motorcycle adventure or rider. He said, “Like pornography, I know a motorcycle adventure experience and an adventure motorcyclist when I see or meet one.”
Adventure Motorcyclist: Frazier Shrugged includes professional adventure motorcycle tips, tricks, survival techniques and failures, with the jaded and humorous worldly slant of a motorcycle journalist who has circumnavigated the world six times and ridden motorcycles for over 1,000,000 miles, literally to the ends of the earth.
For the dreamer wannabe, newbie, or advanced adventure rider, it’s an esoteric tome that some ADV riders will not have the mental bandwidth to wrap their head around, while motorheads and travelers alike will have the “Ahhhaaa” moments of recognition. Required reading for academics, historians, researchers and students of adventuring motorcycling. 6"x9" paperback, 358 pages.
This lightweight, ultra-compact water-resistant/repellent sil-nylon reusable bag packs anywhere and doubles as a functional backpack. Jam one behind the headlight or a side panel and it will stay there until needed. Or toss inside another pack or Messenger Bag.
They are built to last. All seams are reinforced with binding for durability and strength. The handle loops are tacked and bound, then reinforced again – so they won’t pull off. Two draw cord closure straps of flat webbing secure a quick cinch closure. Bottom corners are reinforced with Cordura pack cloth.
The draw cords lock to desired length so they can function as backpack-style shoulder straps. A small stuff-pocket is located high on the interior to double as easy-access storage for keys or a phone.
Carries fine across shorter surface street distances by threading one’s left forearm through the handles so the bag hangs just in front of the left knee, too. Inspired by Mark Lindemann, motorcycle industry veteran and author of ‘The Total Motorcycling Manual’ (#5506). Blue. 4.5"×3.75"×2" (compressed), 19"×20"×18" (expanded).
An indispensable tool for everyday, frequent and utility riders. I carry two every day (!): One is always in the top pocket of my ‘daily’ backpack, and the other wedged between the speedo and headlight of my ‘daily’ motorcycle, for whenever I’m not wearing the backpack. A third LP Bag is also packed with long-distance MC travel gear.
At your weekly grocery store the heavier items go into your messenger bag or backpack, and the lighter stuff goes into this bag, which then hangs from your wrist or forearm directly in front of your left knee for your ___ mile ride home. No need to figure out how to bungee anything on, andno need for saddle bags.
The key is absolute simplicity and spectacular build-quality. These types of bags are generally cheap and crappy. This one is tough and long-use durable with superior stitching and attention to detail everywhere. My first one survived more than twenty years of bi-weekly use, and though it’s now showing wear, it still works fine.
We could never find a nice one of these after several years of looking, so we designed and made one ourselves. This is a versatile lifesaver, and you will not be disappointed.
PS - Similarly indispensable for all bicycle-transportation riders.
-- Mr. Subjective, 6-2024
The zippered compartment on the back is long enough for three stacks of bills placed end-to-end. This is a discreet way to carry hoards of fifties or hundreds on long trips… or just a safe place to forget a single “emergency” dollar. A flat row of quarters will fit, too. One size fits all. Belt can be shortened by cutting and fusing. Black nylon webbing 1.25" wide, 46" long. Durable cam-action black nylon buckle (money not included).
So your buddy pulls over in a cloud of smoke with a broken chain piled up in front of his engine sprocket and a busted crankcase. Or he throws his new scoot up the street in a cacophony of sparks and shredded parts. Whattya do? Look uncomfortably at your feet? Cringe with empathy? Hell no. You whip out Mr. Happy and lighten the mood with chirpy platitudes such as “Gee Bill, I’m sure we can find a guy to replicate that casting for big bucks.” Or “That’s OK, that bike was kind of ugly anyway, don’t you think?” Chances are that after the rider in question chases you half a mile down the road and pummels you about the head and shoulders he’ll feel MUCH better.
Be ready with a kind word and light pantomime for any downer occasion. Mr. Happy wants to help. Fits readily in most tankbags. Also good for cheering up rain-sodden rally campsites or bolstering spirits during multi-day bad weather scenarios that have eaten up most of a given vacation or ride.

You know who you are. You’re among friends here...but across the world of ordinary people, regular workplaces, common hardware stores, consumerized shopping malls, offices, workshops and chain grocery stores…the Road Grimed Astronaut goes a long way. Because most people have no idea.
Let us explain. Do people in grocery stores and gas stations see your onesie coverall or teched-out armored adventure suit as peculiar? Have you ever ridden past a bedraggled looking group of bevested and bechapped riders standing around under a freeway overpass smoking cigarettes and waiting for the rain to stop…and did you smile inside your helmet as you went by? Do bearded hipsters regard the uncoolness of your wonderful habiliment from saddles of their fenderless aircleanerless purified bikes or (more likely) thru their car windows as you ride by them in traffic on a cold dark day?
If some of this is slightly familiar, you are a Road Grimed Astronaut. You have the right stuff. So you might want this.
