More than common and generic ‘outdoor’ fleece jackets, these are both tailored and engineered for riding. Each Aerostich fleece jacket is made right alongside the Roadcrafters and Dariens, and is designed to work perfectly within all of your riding gear. It’s a warm, draft-blocking, comfortable, lightweight layer of insulation perfect for three and four season rides. They wear wonderfully off-the-bike, too.
The details make a difference you can feel. We start with genuine Polarfleece (The original…there are many inferior copies) and YKK zippers. Each collar is tapered for more comfort with a helmet strap and the sleeve diameter is trimmed down for less bulk under riding gear. Sleeves are more forward rotated, too. And the long underarm ventilation zippers match Roadcrafter suits. Durable Lycra/nylon bindings at the hem and sleeves are comfortable and stop drafts without absorbing water.
The torso is also a bit shorter in front and longer in back for a better fit, and the sleeves are usefully a bit longer than you’ll find in typical fleece jackets. Zippered inside and outside chest pockets secure valuables like wallets, and zippered side pockets are placed slightly forward for easier access. Yes, I do use our little face shield kit. And for some reason don’t miss the ’spray pump’ component. Over the last few years I've become more squeamish about using the filthy windshield cleaning tools in the dirty water out by the gas pumps. I was fine doing that for years but now what I do is take some of the paper towels off the pump island and jam them into my helmet and use the sink in the rest room to clean my helmet. This takes a little more time but at least I’m getting clean water. I don’t use the Protect-All wax (one bottle has windex and the other Protect-All) during the day. I usually apply a fresh coat at night after the day’s ride is over. My last trip was six road days and four motel nights (to-and-from NYC the slow way) so I did the wax treatment four times. When it rains on a Protect-All’d face shield it’s almost as good as Armor-All, and bug splats are also easier to remove.

These hook & loop closure bags offer ultra-durable secure storage capacity with a faster, more convenient closure than zip-lock or zippered bags and drawstring stuff sacks. Perfect inside a tank bag, backpack or saddle bag. They are tough enough to stand up to vibrational wear, abrasion and long-term expedition use. The hook & loop strip across the top is ½" wide and end-to-end secure.
The smallest size is perfect to keep earplugs clean and protected. The largest works for full-page documents and file folders. In between sizes are great for first aid kit or cooking tools, or to protect and organize electronics. The one that's long and short is great as a travel office for organizing and keeping pens, receipts, money, and miscellany all in one place inside a tank bag or travel pack. The largest one is available in both a top and side opening version in response to customer requests to expand the storage versatility and usefulness.
We've been making and selling these for more than thirty years now. We're still using some of the originals. They don't wear out. Nobody else makes anything similar, and they continue to work better than anything else for what they do. Nine size configurations and 4 fabric options to choose from:
- Original are carefully made from blue 400D Oxford weave nylon, with a highly water-resistant PU (Polyurethane) coating on the inside.
- Lightweight are sewn from a highly water-resistant 70D grey nylon material, they are tough but not as stiff as the heavier fabric of the Original bags.
- Ultralight are constructed from silky soft, ultralight black SilNylon fabric, making them super packable when not in use, and highly protective when they are.
- Traditional Waxed Cotton bags are hand-crafted from the same authentic brown waxed cotton used to make Falstaff and Cousin Jeremy riding gear and offer rugged durability, water resistance and a retro-cool authentic look.

A functional merging of the style and waterproofness of Waxed Cotton, with the exceedingly useful features and detailed quality of Aerostich Messenger Bags. All sizes are constructed with a seamless bottom for maximum durability. Inside each bag is a usefully sized organizer pocket and “clip-on” key loop. These bags are soft, supple and feel like an old favorite from the first moment you strap one on. With use the waxed cotton develops its uniquely experienced personalized look. This continues to improve with use.
The 2" nylon shoulder strap adjusts quickly and easily with a cam lock buckle for a secure, comfortable all-day fit. An oversize removable load-spreading pad (in matching waxed cotton, with a grippy Ultrasude surface) provides all-day carrying comfort.
The large flap closes with both a wide strip of hook and loop as well as adjustable quick-release buckles to accommodate larger loads. There's also a handy carrying handle on top of the flap that you'll find everyday useful. Visibility is assured with a wide strip of 3M Scotchlite™ reflective running across the flap.
