The Competition is a slightly stiffer back protector with an impact protection system similar to the Standard armor, but covering a larger area. It's ideal for track days, high speed backroad twisties and other fun hooligan-type riding applications. (You know who you are…) TF3, polyester, and Cordura.

These full length back protectors provide higher levels of protection for kidneys, spine and coccyx areas. The TF3 versions are fully fitted for all Aerostich suits and jackets using integrated hook & loop mounts, or can be worn in another garment with the detachable, optional belt (available free upon request with purchase). An optional adapter sleeve (#1109) is available for the TF5 back protector to allow it to be worn via hook & loop attachments or with the optional belt. An ultralight Darien Jacket and pants would make a great urban riding tool (...we said to ourselves). So we build them just this way, using a tough, HT200D Nylon TLTex® fabric. This lightweight Cordura-like material is far tougher than ordinary nylon fabrics of similar weight that offer about a third less abrasion resistance than the regular Darien's stiffer 500D fabric.

On the other hand this lighter weight version provides so much more ease and comfort it's better for many kinds of rugged outdoor activities beyond motorcycle riding.

Added security and protection to your chest area with this dual-layer TF6 Impact Armor that attaches easily to the integrated loop sections of the RoadcrafterLight, R-3 and R-3 Light. Lightweight, breathable, visco-elastic torso security. 10"×9.5". Hard impacts to the upper chest area are uncommon but not unknown in crash scenarios. These may result in serious heart muscle injury, arterial and vein injury, lung collapse, and broken ribs. This engineered TF6 pad absorbs impact energy and includes a hidden hard-shell area offset so it is positioned directly over the heart. Easy to install and remove, and unobtrusive when worn. You won’t notice it’s there.

Very comfortable and easy to wear—just like Elkskin, but made of slightly thinner medium weight deerskin so they’re ideal for casual, everyday rides, especially commuting and touring. No break-in needed; they will be as comfortable as prewashed denim the moment you put them on. Because they’re so light, absorbent and soft, they provide great control feel. Nimble enough to pick a coin off a table, yet strong enough for riding protection. The insulated versions have 3M Thinsulate and a brushed nylon lining, so they are perfect for spring and fall wear. Full and half sizes for a better and more precise fit. For insulated gloves, order 1/2 size larger than non-insulated version to ensure proper fit. Both styles feature thumb visor squeegee.

Gauntlets increase the coverage and work better in cool riding conditions. Tuck ‘em in or pull ‘em over. Full and half sizes, Regular (#424) size 7-11, Insulated (#425) size 8-12.

Sheepskin cushions, cools and lets air circulate. When it’s sticky hot, you’ll sit cooler. And when it’s freezing, sheepskin is warm and comfy. Between extremes it’s always luxurious. Sheepskin has long been used by those who sit for extended periods because of how it cushions and vents.

By itself, the fully lined jacket worn alone is wonderful. Armored, lightweight, underarm and back-vented, nine pockets, cool-wearing, rotated sleeves, action back gussets, adjustable waist tabs and much more. Zipped together with the matching pants it's as fast and convenient to use as a one piece suit.

The jacket overlaps pants by about six inches. It is attached to the pants with a securely sewn 270º circumferential two way zipper that can stand up to stress and hard use. You can start the zipper sliders and connect the jacket and pant while wearing both.

Separately, the pants have a waist drawstring with cord locks, and there are two additional pockets sewn into its lining accessible behind the flaps covering the side zippers. All the features of the one piece design are included in the two piece, making this our most versatile riders suit.
