Classic waxed cotton and modern design merge in a serous riders’ jacket. The CJ’s details and features have been refined across thirty years of rider input and experiences. The modern ergonomic pockets, vents, armor and numerous other details have all adapted from the well-proven Roadcrafter Classic model (a lightweight Cordura Gore-Tex version of the CJ). This one uses a supple 10.10 oz. English waxed cotton, with an added layer of waxed cotton fabric incorporated for increased abrasion protection at the elbow and shoulder areas. For greater comfort and super fast on-and-off CJ’s are fully lined with black supernyl. It’s a dense weave nylon that looks and feels a bit like satin but is far more durable. Impact protection is provided by removable TF3 or TF6 armor in the shoulders and elbows, with pre-installed hook & loop for adding the optional TF back impact armor.

Large underarm vent zips, a two-way zippered back vent and an adjustable dual height collar allow huge airflow on warmer days and when zipped up with a thermal layer underneath a CJ will keep you warm and protected even in the coolest riding weather.

Nine outer and one inner pocket allow ample storage and organization for your EDC items, including a extra-large zippered cargo pocket on the right chest with a hidden supernyl stash pocket just inside for quick access to cash, cards, or your phone. There’s also a zippered pocket on the right forearm for change, keys or earplugs. Hidden under the upper left chest outer pocket’s weather flap is a helmet holder carabineer, and the pass-thru design behind this pocket provides easy glove storage when gassing up. Large lower cargo pockets feature fold-over flaps for all weather secure stowage.

The rain flaps covering the back airflow vent and front logo pocket are the same fabric as the jacket body, but for riders wanting additional nighttime visibility, these flaps are available on special order with 3M Scotchlight® Reflective material instead.

The pants have belt loops and a waist drawstring with cordlocks to adjust fit, or the 270º circumferential two way zipper allows them to be secured to the jacket making it nearly as fast and convenient to wear as a one piece suit. Side flaps open to reveal two additional pockets sewn into the lining, and allow side access to inside pants pockets.

It is possible to enjoy warm, dry hands while being plastered and hammered and hosed. Made from 3.5 oz/sq yd 40d three-layer breathable-waterproof ripstop nylon. The thin ripstop nylon laminated fabric breathes enough during rain conditions so your skin won’t become clammy. The oversize gauntlets slide on easily and allow a secure grip when used over your regular (crash protective) gloves. An elastic drawcord with a tethered cordlock keeps them in place. Hook & loop wrist cinches are ergonomically reversed and easier to use.

They pack very small, so you’ll always have them ready. There’s Scotchlite reflective for nighttime hand signaling, and a left thumb visor squeegee. To work best, size to fit over regular crash protective gloves. For glove sizes S or 7-8, use a size M. For glove sizes M/L or 9-10, use a size L. For size XL or 11+, use size XL. Far better than 'afterthought' jacket liners. More durable, comfortable, functional and versatile.

Their reversible design includes seven purposeful pockets in a black Supernyl fabric shell, including dual hand-warmer pockets, a side entry drop-in ergonomic left side chest pocket, a top opening chest pocket on the right side, two large zippered compartments behind each hand warmer pocket and a large zippered pocket across the lower back that the entire jacket to self-stores neatly within for packing and travel. Inside-out when packed, with integrated webbing loops so it may be safely attached to your bike, or worn on a belt like a fanny pack. Also works well as a sleeping or reading pillow when camping.

The wearable-both-ways liner also features underarm zips which perfectly match those on Darien jackets to provide superior venting adjustability and more comfort across a wider temperature range. You'll also appreciate the handlebar-friendly longer sleeve lengths, a just-right collar height and the comfortable stretch knit wrists and waist.

Because they are reversible this liner may be worn fleece-on-the-inside for great air-trapping warmth, or reversed to help it slip on or off faster within a Darien (or any other) outer jacket.

The grey TLTec Wind Pro model features a thick, dense 200 wt. wind resistant “super fleece” which is extremely breathable yet provides 4x better insulation and more draft resistance than common department store fleeces.

The blue TLTec Wind Blocker version is made with a slightly thinner and even more highly windproof 100 wt. fleece that offers 2X faster moisture wicking than other windproof fleeces, while retaining good breathability for all day comfort. It's also marginally more compact-to-pack. Because of its slightly more wind-blocking TL Tec, it also offers a bit higher insulation level (as measured in lab testing) than the noticeably thicker Wind Pro model.

Wear either as a cold weather comfort layer inside a Darien Jacket, or alone as a casual/off-bike jacket. Wherever you are going, both eliminate some of the weight and bulk of traditional liners, and both are equally long-use durable. They both feature a durable water repellent (DWR) finish to keep you drier and more comfortable thru the wettest conditions.

Either version will wear a good deal warmer than you'd expect on cool mornings, and both compliment a Darien jacket perfectly. With all new Darien jacket construction an optional zip-in liner zipper (#375) is available at no charge, but most wearers prefer to simply wear these together, without this complication. There’s no arguing...women and men agree a Bamboo-Cotton ¼ Zip Jersey is must have kit for on and off the bike. It’s a great layering piece, light and soft, with a practical cut great for wearing under a button-up shirt on a cold day. Darn comfy on it’s own too. The women’s version is cut, well...a little more girly and more form fitting than the men’s, which is more straight patterned.

One of the best technology crossovers from bicycling to motorcycling is padded, stretchy shorts. If you’ve never worn these things on a long ride, you owe it to yourself to try a pair.
